Break tackle change is a huge nerf to lizardmen, kroxigor etc. Black orc team starting to look better?

They’ve added a crazy Snotling roster, cheaper bribes for more teams, throw team mate is better. But M6 Str4 players can no longer dodge on a 2+? Yeah, sounds terrible.

Saurus take BT for the easy way to fix your positional fails, and for the great blitzing options it gives
Can't replace that with MB or Guard



Anyway, currently if you're a Str5 Agi3 (= AG4+) Ogre you dodge on a 4+
With current Break Tackle you dodge once per turn on a 2+
With new Break Tackle it's the same

So it's the same as previous for certain Big Guys
It means Big Guy agility is more relevant
It means strength over 5 is less relevant

Not saying that MB or Guard can replace 2+ Break Tackle, but maybe bashing will make up for the lack of Break Tackle disengaging, at least partially.
Hard to say without playing the new rules.

Players for whom Break Tackle is the same as currently, meaning they still dodge on a 2+:
Ogre, Minotaur, Rat Ogre ST5, Ag4+
Chaos Chosen Blockers, ST4, Ag3+

Nerfed, these all now dodge on a 3+ with Break Tackle:
Death Roller st7 ag5+
Treeman st6 ag5+
Troll, Rotspawn, Kroxigor, Mummy, Yhetee*, Tomb Guardian* St5 Ag5+
Flesh Golem, Big Orc Blocker, Black Orc, Nurgle Bloater, Bull Centaur* Ulfwerener* ST4 ag4+

Extra nerfed:
Saurus So Sad, ST4 Ag5+, now dodge on a 4+ with Break Tackle

Buffed:
Vampires*! They'd be ST4 ag2+ so would dodge on 1+ with Break Tackle

* Currently deleted



Anyone who is ST3 ST4 and has Strength access (but not Mutations access because Two Heads is better), can take BT for a +1 to dodge
Maybe on a Dwarf Runner, so he dodges on a 2+? It's expensive tho, 40k TV cost

Renegades are the most disappointing to me. I was hoping they’d take them in a fun direction and change up some of the positional players, but the least I expected was for M access on normal rolls for big guys and they didn’t even get that. The rat ogre might be fun but I was expecting more.

How much often are you going to dodge with a loner Big Guy if he doesn't have Dodge first?
And about Chosen Blockers, they can take Two Heads, and Break Tackle is not a skill picked by Chaos Chosen (ST 5 Chosen use to take Tentacles).
Maybe by Bloater due to AG 2, Chaos Chosen would take Two Heads instead.

Am I the only one that thinks this is extremely silly? So if you choose a primary first, and then get a random primary second, you pay 10 spp, but if you reverse it the cost is 11 spp? And how difficult will this all be to keep track of? Imagine having a legend, you need to record which skills were randomly selected and which chosen to accurately get a TV. This seems extremely annoying to me.

It also seems that a rolled +ST is indeed 80k. That being the case I cannot think of a single scenario where it is worth it.

How does the "random" mechanic work, particularly for stats.

I appreciate that there are 12 skills for A/P/G/S/M but what about Stats? Will a random +ST be equally available as a random +AV? Will +PA be able to be selected on a player with a "-" passing attribute?

no theres a chart for stats. roll a d16, and each choice has at least 2 stats as a choice (so if you roll say a 15, you can choose either agility or strength, but not ma, av, or pa)

you have a very low chance of being allowed to choose str.

for skills, you choose a category (so if you can get GS on normals, you would have to just choose one, lets say you choose S), then you roll 1d12 to determine which skill from that category you get (all skill categories have 12 skills)
