As far as orcs go I have no quarrel with them. They are green, sure, but so are Granny Smith apples. I can't seem to get a hang of playing them though... get beat up all the time (I'm talking about orcs now, not Granny Smith apples...). In that respect I think BunnyPuncher might be on to something.
Another thing I can't get the hang of is all this race-bashing going on here. "I won't play this..." or "I won't play that.."
It seems to me what many coaches are saying is really: "I won't play anyone who'll score against me or outfight my team... and don't even think about hurting my players!" How do you ever get a game? |
Pick on humans, that seems to do the trick  |

I've never played with them, because it would really be too easy, plus I don't like greenskins (dunno where this racism comes from, though I suspect Tolkein has to do with it). Playing Orcs is all very well, until you realise 4 of your last 6 games have been against them.
You'll notice on the link below that Orcs are the most popular race by a wide margin:

They don't have all that great a record because they are the 'go-to' team for newbs. In the hands of a good coach, they have few weaknesses. I've always felt the 4 Black Orcs was OTT, and that 2 would be sufficient - I mean, Av9 linemen for 50k? A bargain, and yet they have so many positionals there's hardly a need for them. |

I hate orcs as well, always lose to them, yet my orcs seem to get battered by everyone. No matter what, you gotta hate dwarves the most. At least an orc oppo may try to pass the ball |

I must admit they are a bit strong especially when they don't need to fill the team with linemen AND they have linos at AV9. |

Meh, I dont mind that one race will be better than another or Zons are rubbish vs Dwarves but good vs pretty much all else! Just part of the rich tapestry of the world of Bloodbowl (dunno where i nicked that comment from!)
Fine tweaking of stable rosters ruins the fun of BB for me |

If we didnt have Orcs who would play the Dwarf teams? I liked it better when humans and Orcs were the same, except for the skin of course. Both had catcher and both had blockers and both had blitzers and both had throwers. Wasnt that a run on sentence? Keep your Elf ball to yourself you wusses! Play anything at any time. |

The person whoever said orcs dont have any weaknesses wasnt really right... at least imo. The orc team i started for being inspired by this thread, hasnt really succeeded so far. There is one MAJER weakness that at least my orcs have. And that is.... BAD DICE \o/ Gotten nicely battered by the dice in my first two games so far Their av9 is breaking more often than av7 on my woodies... |

Orcs are great until TR200 and are great for tournaments because of their durability (av9).
Above TR200 they can bash but they can't win easily against other races and specialy elves. |
