Rules question:
VERY IMPORTANT: No matter how many re-rolls you have, or
what type they are, you may never re-roll a single dice roll more than once.
TEAM RE-ROLLS
Team re-rolls represent how well trained a team is. A coach may
use a team re-roll to re-roll any dice roll other than Armour, Injury
or Casualty rolls made by a player in their own team and still on
the pitch during their own team turn. The result of the new roll
must be accepted in place of the first, even if it is worse. A coach
may not use more than one Re-roll counter per team turn, and
may not use a Re-roll counter to force the opposing coach to reroll a dice roll.
Each coach must keep track of the number of re-rolls they have
left on the track provided on their Dugout. Every time a coach
uses up a team re-roll he must remove a counter from the track.
When there are no markers left the coach may not use any more
team re-rolls that half. At half time the two teams get a chance to
rest and recuperate, and so their team re-rolls are restored to their starting level.
Loner (Extraordinary)
Loners prefer to work on their own, and are not noted for paying terribly
much attention to what is going on in team practice sessions! As a result,
Loners may not use Team Re-rolls unless they first roll a 4+ on a D6. On
a roll of 1-3 the original result stands and the re-roll is lost.
------------------------------------------------
So, if a Loner fails to use a team re-roll, the re-roll is not used but lost instead. Therefore, the team is allowed to use a team re-roll later during the same turn, even after a Loner has failed to use one?
This would also mean that Loners may attempt to use a team re-roll an unlimited amount of times during the same turn, until either the attempt succeeds (and a team re-roll is used, preventing the team for attempting to use any more team re-rolls during the same turn) or the team runs out of team re-rolls. This is possible because, as I see it, each attempt to use a team re-roll is a different dice roll (because each attempt to use a team re-roll is a different action). |

i think "lost" means "wasted".
as in "used up" not "used"...
so as i see it: if you try for the reroll.. and fail that 4+ roll.. its gone.. thats the reroll for this turn used up. |

Why do I never see the same logic used to argue about the Vampire team.

This is why JJ agreed to take 2 years and 3 months from start to finish to work on the next ruleset.
We were both hoping to get as many rules lawyers as we could to come out of the woodwork so we could seal up any holes they find.
In this case ... I'll make sure that Loner says that when a re-roll is lost that a team cannot use another team re-roll the same turn.

You better do that, for obvious reasons. That was a really quick answer. |

Yet another really stupid question considering the same matter:
Loners may not use Team Re-rolls unless they first roll a 4+ on a D6.
So, if this die comes up as a 4+, the Loner may use a team re-roll, meaning he does not have to? But if the roll fails, a team re-roll is lost. |

I cannot possibly see a reason why you would use the Loner skill if you were not going to use the team re-roll. That would be the same as succeeding with Pro and then deciding to not re-roll the failed roll ... not sure I even want to try to word it to prevent this.

vamps are a special case because vampirism is a 'condition' not a race a such, and the fluff of chaos dwarves says that chaos dwarves are a rare breed so they need hobgoblin slaves to make up the numbers so in both cases there is an excuse for the main race being outnumbered by the lesser race but ogres are not rare the only reason to have little guys is to make the team playable at all. i think if they need to be nerfed futher (if this is the case how did they become official without proper playtesting) make the ogres themselves worse like maybe fighting amongst themselves or eating each other or somthing like that not just cut down there numbers |
