Ok I did a blog a while ago where I postulated (yes postulated, no dumbing down on this thread) if we had a match of the best players that we have produced (The Legends) vs The Stars. Who would win?
So two teams, 16 players a side. A wizard per side; 2 rerolls for the Legends, 6 for the Stars; fanfactor 12 for the Legends 20 for the Stars.
Now below I have put together my Stars team and you can argue the merits of it either way (popular demand got Griff in) However what I'd like is nominations for the 16 Legends.
Then maybe if we asked really nicely Christer could put an exibition match togeather for us. Failing that, maybe someone with an extensive collection could play it and show us the results.
The Stars
The Big Guys
Ramtut III
Ripper Bolgrut
Morg N Thorg
Grashnak Blackhoof
Deeproot StrongBranch
The All Rounders
The Count
Hthark the Unstoppable
Griff Oberwald
Silibili
Prince Morian
The Speed Deamons
Jordell Freshbreeze
Hackflem Scuttlespike
The Specialists
Zara the Slayer (Undead Stopper)
Nobbla Blackwort (Chainsaws are fun)
Lord Borak the Despoiler (Gonna need a DP)
Horkon Heartripper (Dagger Anyone)
The Legends
As 'The Legends' are likley to have more freaky stat increases I am limiting them to a maximum of 3 big guys and no more than 1 player from any race. One final rule to make it interesting. No one turners as where is the fun in that.
Oh and any injuries healed (including death).
1. Robbie Fowler (Elf Catcher)
2. Sai (Skaven Gutter Runner)
3. The Shadow Knows (Vampire)
4. Fro'de (Orc Thrower)
5. Enjoyment (Chaos Warrior)
6. Wh'ine (Saurus)
7. Mustafá o vendedor de cerejas (Undead Mummy)
8. Enedeny (High Elf Dragon Warrior)
9. Caldoris Thundercall (Wood Elf Wardancer)
10. Power Beast (Beast of Nurgle)
11. Humbleton (Human Blitzer)
12. Froik the Terrible (Goblin Troll)
13. Lupone (Ogre Goblin)
14. Meuh (Bull Centaur)
15. Valdrek Bloodgaze (Dark Elf Thrower)
16. Mr T (Halfling Treeman)
Just to let people know (as a public service) how to set this match up:
1. Download the team files and place them in your Bbowl teams directory.
http://www.firstrateideas.co.uk/Fumbbl%20Legends.html
and/or
http://www.firstrateideas.co.uk/Fumbbl%20Star%20Players.html
2. Press play on one of your normal teams and launch as server or client as normal but don't put a proxy in.
3. It will say "you must enter a game name" on a pop up box, just press ok.
4. Click on options and then untick "FUMBBL Login" which is second from the bottom in the far right login.
5. Browse and select the legends or stars team from your team directory.
6. Put in a proxy, anything will do.
7. Click host game.
The client player will go through the same steps though obviously should select a different team.
Hope this helps.
Also to the doom mongers out there, playing it is closer than you would think, the Legends only have 3 guards two of whom are on slow big guys to the Stars one. Also no DP to the Stars one (this was painful in our match)
Legends sure have the tackle advantage but no negatraits on the stars big guys makes them way more reliable. |

My guess is that it would´nt even be a contest... The star has to be balanced.. the legends don´t but still cool to see an idea of an Fumbbl All Star team
But the number of st5 elves, st7 treemen or other bigguys would be huge.
My guess would be at least 50% power elves... making all the elven "stars" look like amateurs. for instance http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=player&op=view&player_id=3750757
And a couple of 1tdt making the match a farce |

Except he would be disqualified because hes a 1 turner.
I did think about this hence the max two players from each race. (And max 2 big guys) I guess you could slim it down to one player from each race?
The one thing in favour is that the players are all so good that the differences would be slightly less.
Give me names people... Names!! |

Luke was never a legend but he was outrageous as a thrower.
Replace Varag and Ripper with Griff and Zug.
The stars would lose simply because they have no tackle (except the blunderbuss guy...)... and thats just the most obvious weakness.
Edit: you can play this without Christers say so, just use a roster editor to feed the client the rosters. |

Goes without saying that Sai should be the Skaven entrant. Pretty much the perfect Gutter Runner I could imagine! |

well, you wouldn't need Christer's help if you played off of fumbbl. you and your opponent could load your team files, deselect fumbbl login, and direct connect. you could even play the game yourself in standalone mode.
I wouldn't count the stars out. The big guys can use rerolls and never bonehead. I would drop Morion and add Griff...an awesome leaper with 11 movement! If the legends do not have a host of undead, I'd drop Zara for "pogostick" guy which when coupled with the big ones...becomes a decent TTM one turner (or for Zug, a powerhouse LOS player). I'd also be tempted to drop Bolgrut for Ironjaw to keep the Block level up, but either way is good.
The stars would definitely have a higher FF than the legends. How many bloodbowlers in the world have heard of Fro'de? How many have heard of Varag Ghoulchewer? Stars would also have more rerolls since they've extended experience working with anyone at a moments notice, whereas the legends have no experience working together, I'd give them 0 rerolls and half the FF.
St5 wardancers are nice...but not when they run into a chainsaw.
Also TR...the stars TR will be rather low compared to all those spp anvils wieghing down the legends. "the Stars" could easily end up with 5 handicap rolls. and lastly, I wouldn't "heal" any of the legends (cept perhaps death). injuries separate the mortals (legends) from the immortals (stars).
the stars biggest problem would be defending vs one turners...no kick, passblock, etc. |

All good points, I'll take everyones views about the stars into account but to save swapping every few posts ill leave it a while.
I like the ff and reroll changes and am giving the stars 6 to 2 rr and 20 to 12 ff over the Legends.
As for injuries at the very least niggles should be got rid off and the rules preclude the Legends taking 1 turners. |

Maybe not because they are/where the best possible Players, but because they are true Legends of fumbbl, I would nominate
Fro´de and Enjoyment.

No tackle + very little guard = no chance for the stars.
Add in no sure hands or dump-off, and that means the stars would have very little chance of holding the ball.
I would take the legends with a score of 5-2. Maybe worse. |
