"Error opening ZIP file" is all I get from VASSAL. I can load other modules, the tutorial module f.ex. works just fine.

...I'm guessing it can be a version problem. I'm on Java 1.4 and VASSAL 2.9. You guys are almost certainly using VASSAL 3.0 and Java 1.6. Does anybody know VASSAL well enough to know if this could be an issue?

No idea but I'd advise updating it, its not too hard to do i think. When people download the file does it come as a ZIP or as a single file? I'm uploading it as a single file but I guess it might arrive as a ZIP..... if it does that then it will either run (via vassal) directly out the ZIP or you will have to unzip it, it depends on the module.

when I downloaded, it was not zip but rar. I unpacked it and it was fine. But I have no clue whether there is a real difference between zip and rar. Many of the packing formats/programs seem to be compatible.

ofc vassal is crap for this...when more would be automated it would be much more playable.
