As announced on the front page I have been asked by the admin team to take over as administrator for the Fumbbl Smack tournaments.
Many coaches have in the past called for changes to the Smack format. I for one feel that all the format needs to work perfectly is a larger staff, made up of coaches who are willing and able to dedicate part of their online time to starting and watching over Smacks.
I wouldn't like to repeat earlier forum threads on who should and shouldn't be on the staff. Every coach is invited to apply to me via personal message. Please state the following in your application:
-Roughly the amount of time you would be online during an average week
-What times you are regularly online (please name this in Fumbbl server time)
-How well you know the FUmbbl tournament rules
-If you are able to advise coaches on problems like disconnections
-Anything that might like to add is of course welcome.
The aim of this excersise is to make a draft list of coaches that are qualified, and give us good coverage over all days of the week and timezones. This draft list will be screened by the admin staff for repetitive rulebreakers and such, after which I will invite the remaining candidates to briefings in IRC to discuss what we need from each volunteer.
I think the Smacks are one of the coolest tournament formats we have on Fumbbl and look forward to getting enough people on board to make them happen more often.
