Recently, someone was talking about the most useless skill choices, Break Tackle on Human Linemen being one of the candidates for most useless. But then, he *could* get +ST and thus use it... That made me think of a skill that, under NO circumstances, could ever be useful, and the first one I thought of was Mighty Blow for Halflings, since they are not supposed to be able to use it (they are Strength 2). And it works - which it shouldn't! Not even if they get +ST! I guess this should have been posted in the Bugzilla thingy, but maybe I'm just too stupid, I couldn't figure out how to use it anyway. I did a search on Mighty Blow in the forum, and didn't find it (in the Bugs section, anyway) but if this has already been posted before, just ignore me, honestly double posts aren't to annoy you guys! (even if it IS annoying Wink )

Here's the text from the LRB for those who can't be arsed to look it up:

Mighty Blow (Strength Skill)

Add +1 to any Armour or Injury rolls (not both) made by a player
with this skill. This skill may not be used by players with a
Strength of 2 or less. This may only be used to modify an
Armour or Injury roll caused by a block. Mighty Blow may not be
used to modify an Armour or Injury roll caused by a foul.

This skill may not be used by players with a Strength of 2 or
less. The strength score comes from the player’s position as it
is written on the team roster, so a Goblin (St 2) can never use
this skill, even if he gains St+1, and a Human Blitzer (St 3) can
use the skill even if he later loses a point of Strength.

oh.. right... but that's a Fumbbl thing, so the client is still wrong. Not that it's gonna matter of course.. Or to sum it up: I'm happy! No problems! All is fine!

I usually try not to restrict things that can easily be controlled by the league itself. In this case I would actually have to write extra code for the restriction. Since there might be leagues out there that want a gobo to be able to have mighty blow via a house rule I don't see a reason to do extra work. Smile

Exactly, you have to keep in mind that the client has no idea what the base strength for a position is, it only has a record of players current stats, and as noted, this is a rules of team creation issue, not a game issue, the client does not check to see that you have created a legal team, nor should it.

yes this lets those of us who are interested in the issue create custom rosters and use JBB as a testbed for new races, or house rules.
