But skaven gutter for oneturning could be nice for slow teams |
Indeed |
I don't really agree, I thought Jack was bonkers for not picking a WD last year. A BoN is good for Elves perhaps, but with most bashers I'd take something fast that's handy on defence or for 2 turn passing. Gutter isn't a bad choice. |

The strength of a BoN isn't for elves but against elves. Bashers usually struggle against elfs so a BoN can be a great help there. Something fast and agile is something that works better against bashers. Another disadvantage of something fast and agile is that is gets hurt easily. |

BoN and WD come to mind ... in the end, the Beast probably wins it. |

BON has regen, which helps in those poor luck games. Nothing worse than having to save your apoth for the WD, and only the WD. |

Something fragile on a non apoth team, which makes it a challenge to keep alive. |

I'd still take a vampire so that he can foul the sheep on my halfling/sheep team |

For my pelves, I'd go with a regenerating big guy. BoN is the most useful in that category. |

Oh, oh... just remembered the best suggestion ever from last year.
Win with a Nurgle team and select a second beast of nurgle as your special player, now resurect a dead beast with your healing scroll. You will have a team with 3 beasts of nurgle on it. I suggest naming them Ro, Russo, and maybe Hungaryray and start molesting everyones teams with your three tentacled players of doom. |

I'm not sure that the scroll lets you abuse the positional rules so you might only get 2, but still a nice ploy.
I think my darkies would take a werewolf for fun frenzying hitting power. But my darkies can;t enter the FC cos I'm away for 10 days in late Oct. |

Had i been in JD'd position last year I'd have taken a gutter for OTT attempts.
They have a deep enough bench that the gutter should rarely need to be fielded in normal play and he would only come out in turn 8 or 16 to tie/win the game.
If memory serves the BoN even rolled +AG and +MA so that would have been a scary gutter on a dwarf team indeed. |

Id personally chose one of three:
gutter runner (ag4, speed + mutation goodness)
Pro elf blitzer (ag4, speed, av8 and block)
BoN (as mentioned)
In my opinion the av8 makes the elf blitzer better than the WD, even though the extra skill will cost you some ts)
edit: For survival purposes the gutter would probably take FA and spikes if it ever rolled doubles. |
