I wanted to ask a newbish question: My launcher links don't work. I never minded as I started the games in an old school fashion. But I never really got into the new proxys (sweden 1 2 Shocked ).

So time for me to fix it. But how?

can you explain what isn't working?

step by step what you do and then what error you're getting. might be easier to decode if you're specific

Search your PC for all instances of JBBLaunch.conf and delete them. Make sure that your PC is configured to open JNLP files using javaws.exe. Then try again.

A pop up opens and ask me to choose a program into a list.

Search the list for your Blood bowl client and choose that directory.

I have a similar problem and I simply cannot get the Launcher to work. I never get to the screen were I can choose the right bb directory from the list, and I cannot run the bb jnlp files when I try to open them manualy. How do you configure your PC to open jnlp files using javaws.exe as you say?

First, find javaws.exe. Note the path that it's in.

Firefox:

Tools menu, choose options.
Select Applications tab.
Scroll down, find JNLP content type.
To the right, select the dropdown menu and choose "Use Other".
Browse to javaws.exe and select it.
Try "play" link now.

Internet Explorer:

It should use your regular windows associations to open the JNLP file using javaws.exe. What version of windows have you got?

To fix the JNLP association for Windows XP, do this:

Start, Settings, Control Panel.
Doubleclick on Folder Options.
Select the File Types tab.
Scroll down and find JNLP, select it.
Click on the Change button below.
In the box that comes up, click the Browse button at the bottom.
Go to the directory that has javaws.exe and select it.
Try launching a match from IE using the play link.

I did the things you said, but I still have the same problems. I have searched for and deleted all JBBLaunch.conf files on my pc. My windows was configured to using javaws (java web start, right?) to launch JNLP files and I have changed firefox to use it also, kinda running out of ideas here Sad Its like the homepage thinks it knows were to start javabb from but just has the wrong path, and I have no idea how to tell it how to use another path. I cleaned my pc som months ago and reinstalled windows, and after that it stopped working with the launcher. I just moved the old folder with the java game, and I can start it up and play games manually its only the Launcher that is screwed. Think it will work out if I remove and redownload the client?

IE looks like it is searching a folder for 2 seconds or so, then the curser just changes to an hourglass and the curser arrow, but after 4 more seconds it changes back and nothing more happens. Firefox saves a file on my desktop called bbowl.jnlp and nothing more happens.

Hmm, returning to this thread. What version of Java have you got installed? I believe the best choice is Java 6, update 7.

I used the firefox procedure outlined above. When hitting "play" I keep getting the Reikland Reevers vs. the other basic team.

What gives?
