Get a Troll next, 14 players is good. Don't replace linos if they die. I'd advise getting a Thrower too, but it's up to you. 4 RR should be enough. |

Yes, get a troll next.
I like to have 5 rerolls - that seems to be about right for me.
I don't like orc throwers, they're slow humans in disguise. After you get the troll, having a goblin around might be useful to attempt throw team mate with. |

But throwers have sure hands. Saves your rerolls. |

throwers are worth starting with imo. At least one. so id say get a thrower after that Troll. Otherwise you should put sure hands on a blitzer and use him as the ball carrier. Then you dont need the thrower. But sure hands on at least one player is a must and preferably two |

I do actually like throwers on an Orc team. Keeps the opponent off guard when you actually do make that long pass to the Blitzer. |

Black Orc -> Troll -> Thrower
You have too many lineorcs - either don't apoth them or sack them to keep your roster at 14 - and actually I think 13 is even better for Orcs. Because of Orc's high AV you probably have at least one lineorc that almost never contributes and just gives your opponent more TR unnecessarily. |

It depends on the way you play. If you give your linos DP, and/or you don't want to field your Thrower on Defence, then 14 might be spot on. It's even truer if you want two Throwers (but i'm not sure i'd recommend that). |

Good point - I generally don't play with DP. |

But one thrower I think is a must have. Troll is funny and don't underestimate goblins....! |

Troll -> BO -> thrower or gobo |

I feel that I should clarify my position, since my opinion goes against popular preferences. Whether or not anybody agrees with me is not of much importance to me. You should decide what is best for your own team.
I try never to pass with my orc team, unless it is for a completion to skill up a player at t8 or t16. A short pass with AG3 has a failure rate of 25%, way too high for my liking. Adding Accurate changes the failure rate to 17%. If all you are going to do is a quick pass you might as well gfi and handoff. Therefore, a line orc or blitzer with surehands does the job just as well. You'll want a block surehands player to counter a leaping stripballer as well as you can. You're likely to have a +AG around, it will be great with surehands and block. Also, a block surehands line orc and block thrower are both 8TR. You gain pass but lose AV. Since I don't pass anyway I'd rather have the AV. |

Troll, yeah.
But I think every Orc team should get at least one decent thrower (Accurate/Safe Throw) for those times when you just have two or three turns to score. It really helps you move the ball.
Ork throwers that luck out with the skill rolls can become really good.
I never buy Gobbos for Ork teams any longer. The small TTM-opportunity isn't worth it. |
