I just can't help customizing my BB players, but this time I went a bit further:
Custom conversion plus pewter casting and painting.
It's a chronopia miniature sporting a daemonette claw (the old ones) making for a more than acceptable Clawed CW.

That looks bloody cool man.
I can't find a good guide anywhere explaining how to do this stuff.
I have never owned any miniatures before, my housemate has a very small colection, and we are just starting to play Blood Bowl, so I am very excited about getting a custom team of dark elves up and running. But I dont have the money to get someone else to do it for me. My housemate says you just chop and glue, simple.... but I'd prefer to take my time, read some guides and get it right first time.
Please, some tips for a newbie if you will. |

Some pointers:
- dont think about using metal if you havent done conversions before, use plastic
- plan all the conversions before you do them (only roughly) make sure that the heads, arms, and legs will actually fit on and are the right size etc
- keep it simple, stick to taking the weapons off models to start with, maybe reposition an arm or a leg if you have spare models to risk
- get a sharp knife, but cut away from your body (and not towards your leg either) |

I'd like to add to that that a small file is invaluable for converting blood bowl.
Often you'll get models where you need to file bits of weapons off that you cant get at with a knife such as near the palms of models with weapons. I've also found them great for making ornate brass knuckles out of the sword hilts on the new dark elf corsair box. |

Seconded.
A dremel or a small drill and some wire will help a lot too, but then I guess we have left the newbie area. However, green stuff can be used by anyone I find, as long as you keep it simple. |

deffo,i'll say that green stuff/putty would be a good thing to have handy, just for filling in gaps/covering over things that look a bit dodgy! |
