Welcome to the hottest series of tournaments here on FUMBBL. The FUMBBL Tour combines the best elements of long term on-going competition with the thrill and excitement of a KO-cup. Up till now, 397 coaches have joined the race for the title but there can only be one champion in the end. Eight events will pit the contestants against each other: Each time you will see the best fighting the best in the primary division in an effort to knock each other out of the race. At the same time, those who had fallen back play each other in order to leap back to the top, taking huge amounts of points on top of a tourney title.

Each week you will see the updated table of the Tour Scores below in this thread. To be listed, you need to have at least one point per started tour-event, so the cut-off is currently four points. Read commentaries, predictions, news and posts of the coaches competing for the title to stay up to date on the who`s who of FUMBBLs longest running event.

2009, March 12th:

Yesterday around 10pm the last final of the first Tour Event concluded with a clear victory of high elves over their dark brethren. The tourneys were showing a bias to the lighter races this time, with 1x Khemri,1x Orcs, 1x Undead, 2x Dwarves, 2x High Elves, 3x Dark Elves, 1x Skaven and 1x Amazons being the 12 semi finalist teams.

Though the Tour Event I - TR200 is over, the FUMBBL Tour has just begun! Unconfirmed rumors are, that there might even be a major style special prize involved for the winner this year. Gone are the days of the Tour being the 'Count-Special-Series'. More variety in the tour events and the lack of extra cash will hopefully make the tour more exciting.

Excitement is also the reason for the lastest change to the Tour that seems to have gone unnoticed: Seeding of the tour events.
As announced by the tour director, starting with the third event coaches will be grouped by tourpoints into the tour events instead of random seeding.
So it won`t be possible to earn title after title by having a lucky draw with many coaches that are just in for the giggles and with a sub-par team. This year the champ will have to claw his way through heavy competition, fighting those that are also racing for the tour title.
You have your arch-rival, that you want to get past in the standings? No problem.. with the seeding you will be in the same tourney as long as you are close together. But there is no time to rest - whenever someone drops behind in points, they will be relegated to the next lower tourney for added chances for a high score to catch up with the big fishes. So if you have missed the start - there is still plenty of opportunities to catch up!
On the other side this change means that the tour can be a nice starting point for tourney rookies. Grouped with other casual coaches and less successful competitors, their first tourney won`t be an experience filled with TR-perfected teams and optimized skill combos.

I guess there is not alot more to say at this point besides to point below to our newest feature. Due to the taming of a nerd that is a sucker for numbers and tables (me ) we will now have the tour standings in this thread, updated in regular intervalls. So for now, all hail to Azure, the current top dog and leader of the pack. The hunt is on!

PS: If someone is a html-wizard or proficient with scripts, I need some serious help to get the excel table that is used to track the scores into a presentable table that I can post here or on a wiki page.

2009, March 19th:
The second round of the tour ended last night with two fortfeits, bringing the total number or missed matches to 5 in the running competition. That`s an improvement over the 7 fortfeits from the last event, but still leaves room for improvement.
The second event saw a few upsets and PigStar-69 is the only one from the final 12 coaches of TourI, who hasn`t been eliminated from TourII.
After winning the TR200 event, Azure was stopped cold in round one, when his count powered undead just couldn`t overcome PigStar`s dwarves. This means, that his top position is most likely gone by the end of the tourney, as contender for a TourII title have reached at least the second round in the first event.
Winner of the weak is mymLaban, who was absent in the TR200 event, but with an impressive winning streak of 3 games is the first to reach a TourII final. As a consequence he jumped from the anonymous masses of Rank 90 and is now tieing with two finalists from TourI for the 5th Rank.
It remains to be seen, who will take the top spot after this event.

That`s it for now. Next week, when the active competitors have wittled down to 12, I will be back for picks who will grab a TourII title.

Yeah Doowa, I saw your gobbos in there. I`m afraid next game will end their fortune in this competition. With two tackle/MB orcish blitzers there won`t be much of a chance.

2009, March 26th:
Third round of the TR150 event has ended with a fortfeit. This is sad, especially as one of concerning coaches was had another fortfeit in this very tourney. Yet, the past week had a few surprising games. GeneralMarauder advanced right through into the final with his orcs, first managing a surprising upset against a +22TS chaosdwarf team, just to repeat the feat in the semi-final - this time only 13 points down in TS against another team of chaos dwarves. So the final is set in the TR150-1 event, where Savages of WAAAGH! meets Things I can do in 4 mins. I think here end the march of the orcs. The handicap might make the matchup abit more open, but my pick is mymLaban to take the title of tourney one.
Tourney Two has already one finalist - 12 elves of Fictional Demons are waiting for the result of the semi between dorfs and orcs. In numbers, the dwarves are at an advantage, having more players, more TS, a star already hired and equal cash. In addition the orcs are low on guard and block and lack a DP. The two major uncertainties: Two nigglers on the dwarven team and a handicap given to the orcs could suddenly turn the tables. Also the dwarves have hired zara for the match that was fortfeited. They also lack guard to properly utilize their slayers. I predict both coaches forking ou extra cash for stars and the dwarves pulling through, just to succumb to the elves, that go for a freebooter and a wiz.
Tourney Three is the most difficult to predict. The one semi-final is a classic bash vs speed - zombificus will try to outrun my dwarves, who in turn have stacked up another mighty blow to wittle down the rats further. 11 rats, that still have 110k pocketed, leave their coach many options and alot will depend, how well the cash is spent. I think I have a slight advantage, so I go with my dwarves advancing to the final to face... well.. that`s the question:
The killermatch of the semi-finals is the one between Xenon Deaths of invencible and PigStar-69`s dwarves, the Mighty midgets of war. Undead vs Dwarves - a classic basher encounter at this TR/TS range. The dwarves have already upped the stakes, getting Zara for the match and the undead have plenty of cash for the count, bringing their team to a full 16 players. The undead could also decide to burn off some of their cash or rid themselves of a zombie, just to avoid a potentially deadly handicap. With a niggle, their star-wight is prone to the virus and also other nasty surprises (Morley`s or 'It wasn`t me' on the count) could ruin their chances in this tourney.A good deal of this will be decided by the ref and the DPs. Zombies booting at will OR Zara getting caught early will give the undead a boost. The longer the game goes, the higher the advantage of the undead. This is really up for grabs, but I go with PigStar to pull through - hopefully thoroughly mangled. For title: Should I manage to overcome those speedy bastards, my chances for the title are excellent. Yet, I will go with PigStar-69 to win against mangled rats in the final - but I hope I`m wrong there.

2009, April 16th:

The second tour event finished yesterday one week late (to avoid a fortfeit) with undead wiping out a dwarven side. As I was the dwarven coach getting wiped I`ll refrain from further comments. Looking back, zero of my three predictions for the tour title have come true - that`s something I`ll have to work on. Congratulations on the winner invencible, reroller and GeneralMarauder. The racial distribution this time is a bashy one with the 'unholy trinity' dwarves, orcs and undead taking the title. The racial spread of the semifinalists were four dwarven teams, two orcish bands and undead, skaven, pro elves, chaos dwarves, norse and necromantic with one team each. So only two baller vs ten brawler - a significant difference to the TR200 event that saw 6 ballers, 5 bashers and a semi-team with amazons. Probably the lure of the count and other dominating stars backed up by a solid team was too strong in this low TR.

The current table shows that GeneralMarauder is now tied with Azure for the lead. Congrats. There is a group of four coaches just one point behind. The next tour event will open for applications on April 22nd, so don`t miss it! Due to the new seeding rule, everyone has still a good chance to catch up with the big boys. Bring up your TR175 team and join the race.

Speaking of seeding: The FUMBBL Tour 2009 III TR175 (TM) will be the first tourney to be seeded by tour points. That means instead of just arranging a random draw over all participants, the coaches will be grouped - the 32 caoches with the most tour points earned so far will get into the PRO TOUR EVENT to face each other. The following 32 coaches will be drawn into the CONTENDER EVENT to earn points to make the jump to the top. Coaches holding the ranks 65+ or new coaches will be seeded in the CASUAL EVENT.

At the moment, the border between the contender and the pro tour participants is at 4 points. So all those with four points have a chance to be in either event with the probability depending on how many of the higher coaches apply. The TOUR 2009 has just begun - so stay tuned.

How are ties in tour points managed for separation into the PRO / CONTENDER events? Say for example the top 64 players all applied for the next tour- there's 18 people tied at 29th place. Randomly pick 4 to go into the PRO event and the rest into the next one?
