Welcome to the grotty little tournament, i'd like to thank Puplechest and his staff(shadow46x2, Qaz, Synn, Rijssiej, Purplegoo, SillySod and somertown, just for the case you didnt know) for the great work.

Once again Milford is on top of all the action for the GLT V. He has been assigned the Old Teams Qualifiers and living large in Altdorf, the site for the Old Teams qualifiers. The Fumbbl commitee has put the old teams in the Altdorf Old Bowl to play the games, they felt it would be a good back drop for the games as the stadium is old and delapitated like most of the teams. Also they felt the coaches would feel at home in this throw back stadium.
So lets go ahead and start breaking down the brackets for all you Fumbbl fans out there.
GLT V Old Teams Qualifier #1
Doomy Digger (Chaos Dwarf) 219/206 Coach: Cloggy: 171.21 468 Games played

Beginging (Wood Elves) 261/209 Coach: Drbunny: 161.78 157 Games Played
Well the Digger's come in with a respectable CD team but nothing to run away from. The team is set to go and has a full roster ready to compete. Beginging comes into the game with 11 players and no cash. This game is simply going to come down to this: Can the Woodies stay on their feet and rack up some scores. If that does not happen well then they are going to go down hard. Plus giving 2 handicaps on top could make this a up hill climb to near impossible. BUT when you break down woodies you allways have to factor in the ag4 and speed.
In the end the Diggers will be to much for this bunch of Elves and roll them to a 2-1 victory.

Words (Chaos) 293/249 Leijonet: 179.91 262 games played
Placated Lust enters this one a serious underdog. But what new for this group of Vamps? But they face a uphill climb that will be unsurmountable. They have no stellar vamp and thralls are thralls. Words comes in primed and ready for a major run and have no holes in the line up. They have cash on hand but no need to worry about this one and will probally go in and play it straight up.
Words should just roll this one easy and take this one 2-0 in a rout.

Well the Sithis enter the match with 190,000 GC but only 12 players. The 12 elves look good but nothing to be scared of. The Crossdressers on the other hand have a full roster and are very well balanced on the skill ups. The dressers have allready hired Zara and a wizard so it will be interesting to see how the Sith counter. It should be a good match and in the end I just think the Dressers will edge them out in a close fought match.
Dressers over the Sith 2-1 in OT.
Sithis takes this one 3-2 in OT
NOW TO THE HEADLINE MATCH OF THE OPENING ROUND
Low Few (Goblin) 186/115 Coach: Skolopender 133.31 Games: 205

Gartags Legion (Orcs) 240/182 Coach: McCloud 142.28 Games: 153
GOBLIN INVASION!! oh this should be so much fun. The Low Few enter the match with niggles out the ying yang, one mean looking Troll, some spare cash for a dewalt chainsaw and some hooligans. The Legion enters this one beat to crap, the GLT prepartions went south as the Legion was bounced game in and game out, taking damage along the way. They go in down to 3 BoB's and have a MNG blitzer. It is just ugly, 60,000 cash and 12 guys. This one is the perfect spot for the Low Few and a chance for Majors glory. All the "old timers" are lamenting that Froik the Terrible is not with us any more, this would have been his time to shine. Plus I just love it that coach Skolopender has a CR of 133.31, it just seems to fit a goblin coach, never underestimate how a chainsaw can equalize any CR defecit.
SO here it is!
LOW FEW over the Legion 2-1 in a tough match but the Legion just does not have the firepower neccesary to overcome this low down crew of goblins.
Gartags Wins this one 2-1. Low Few just fizzled in this one and wilted. |

Any takers for predicting High TR Qualifier 1? I've never had anyone analyze one of my games in advance before
I can maybe do predictions for someone else's bracket if they take the time to do the one I'm in. I doubt I'd be impartial commenting on my own. |

This looks like one of the toughest qualifiers with a mix of great coaches and nasty teams. Quite a bashy group but my early prediction will have to be a texan - synn final and the outcome of that will largely depend on whether the elves make it that far intact. Can't discount the #1 rank coach circularlogic in the mix too, but i don't see his team being strong enough to compete this time. Oh also forgot to mention Nantti and his cash rich orcs jeez, anyone could win this group

Exactly the type of matchup we hoped to see in the High CR quallifiers. Will morehouse have the cas luck the dwarves will need or will the elven wizard prove too much for the dwarves? I think that the elves should have enough players to survive and use the wiz to get them 2 touchdowns ahead at some point in the game.

Another tasty looking matchup looks like circ's elves could be a little underpowered without the cash for a wizard. But never-the-less i think this will be a very close hard fought game. With much resting on the performance of inverno's super str5 blizter. I think the orcs cas dice could decide this one and i give them a very slight advantage.

Weel this matchup looks like the easiest to predict of the first round. I think Synn's chaos should breeze though this one with little problems, and likely will be able to save some cash for the tough latter rounds. As well as lots of claw and guard synn's team has the added bonus of having a player named after me - so he can't fail

The Phone Company is a solid-looking human squad facing a hefty gap in TS, but will be getting 3 handicaps and have Count money.
The Count makes the difference in this one.

Might be a close matchup. If this were a non-tourney game I might lean to the humans, but the norsemen have money for wizard+star, and the humans are broke. Add in the handicaps for the norse, and I lean their way instead.

The Charioteers are probably my favorite team besides my own, partly because they play through injury and invite death on the field. Unfortunately that attitude has left them with 8 niggled players on the roster right now. Angularity comes in healthy but heavily outmatched, assuming the Charioteers all show up. With 3 handicaps coming, a Virus would wipe out the Charioteer's chances before the game even starts.
I'm picking the brave norsemen in a brutal festival of gore and violence that will have the Valkyries working overtime. (offer not valid if a Virus hits)

This looks like probably the closest matchup in this qualifier. Neither team has money to buy stars, so it's just roster versus roster. Another First Try has better developed positionals, but just 1 Guard. I foresee the Corpses eventually winning the battle of attrition via MB/Tacklers and DP.
