The current system works so long as TS is an accurate reflection of real strength. Ogres aside - it does seem accurate.

The only mismatches Ive been invloved with have been with my gobbos (with a couple of irrelevant guys mng) getting to beat on rookies or recovering teams.

gobbos flings and ogres are alway gonna be weird. but lets face it, the little fellas (and big retards) need all the help they can get.

Well, what to say.
Without talking about races. Team with 0 matches and 100/99 VS Team with 25 matches and 187/116

Handicaps are one factor that is extremely hard to balance. I would include an additional cutoff, that says 'no matches of teams with a TS-dif > 15 before handicaps'.
Further, I would set the TS difference to 8% of the lower TS. That might shift the number of matches towards the higher TS, but I feel that would be an improvement.

Most true statement in the entire thread.

With a 1-1 tie as the result. What, exactly, is the problem? Number of matches is not really relevant. Yes, it's a large TR difference, enough for four handicaps, and the ogres ended up fielding six players for most of the match.

yup. i'd take them odds. a 6 player ogre team is - well - even worse than ogres usually are.

Scheduler somehow considered this a better matchup:
http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=match&id=2824356
rather than:
http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=team&op=view&team_id=582173
vs
http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=team&op=view&team_id=586630

Because the TS was increased by ten for the WE team due to 2 rolls. But failed to consider that the team was going to play a +33 CAS +11 Win +29 TD would be fair against an average WE team rather than an average chaos team.

http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=team&op=view&team_id=586630 had a supposed 3 less TS, but the matchup made a lot more sense at high TS.

Again both teams still would have to face a superior coach/team. Yet the matchup was made.

We wonder why there are hardly anything but bashy teams at the top?

Besides...does it make sense for claw/rsc to be so nw efficent compared to DP anyway?
