Those are pretty brilliant. Good find, Nighteye.

Now I'm trying to think of how to run a forum game about forum flaming. Pick a character archetype, get special powers based upon your class and flame on! The game runs until someone plays the Hitler card (according to Godwin's Law) and everyone accumulates pity, superiority, wit or mayhem based upon public review of your posts. Each archetype has an end goal (as in Chez Geek - "accumulate 30 pity" or "get in one unanimously superior post") that allows them to be the one who can tie the discussion back to Hitler and end the game.

Just like in life, however, no one truly ever wins. Smile

You don't need to run it. It runs itself, all the time!

I'll just quickly point out that this has been brought up before!

But maybe that was in the IRC channel.

What archetype does that make me? Wink

They are hilarious and some of them very precise.

I wonder how many types you can specify and still call them "Archetypes"? Smile

I wonder how long it will take for people to start accusing each other of being some of these archetypes? Anyway, great work! Took up a lot of my time reading it but I really enjoyed it. Thanks Nighteye + whoever made it.

That took a while to get through. There were some very familiar ones in there.

So what archetypes do you all fit in? I think I'm a hybrid Archivist/Ent.

Here's a few attempted matches:

brownrob is an Eagle Scout, Force/Big Mac is a Ferrous Cranus, BadMrMojo I nominate as a Kung-Fu Master, macavity looks suspiciously like a Coffee Klatch, Christer is Admin (not difficult, that one), and SkiJunkie is God, because in the beginning, He created JavaBBowl, and it was good Smile

I was wondering what Buur was - there doesn't appear to be an archetype for a pie spammer Smile
