Don't know if this topic has been up before, but I'd find it really helpful seeing the players numbers on the pitch, to help remember which players had what skills...

Just move your mouse over the player and their skills appear on the card at the bottom of the screen

As well as their player number. Smile

Pressing 'n' should bring up all the numbers on the icons, I think.

I want to see the numbers on the icons, to get an overview (i.e. where are my Guard players..)

Try pressing 'n', if that doesn't work, read the readme, it's in there somewhere.

Maybe it's because the chat text field is in focus, though I can't seem to un-focus it...

'Alt+N' is supposed to permanently display player numbers. It works in stand-alone. If you play on-line, try using it before you select the chat window.

You can unfocus the text area mid-game using TAB.

Heh, that text box can get really annoying. I was typing something at the start of the game when it ran through the niggles and before I knew it I'd blown my apothecary so a niggled skink wouldn't miss the game Razz (Hit the spacebar while I was typing just as the message box came up) Fortunately my opponent understood my problem and we restarted.
