Sing out loud to your mates! (both uses of the word)

On a warm summer’s evenin’ on a channel made for Drunkards,
I met up with the fummbler; we were both too tired to sleep.
So we took turns a typin’ total nonsense in that channel
’til boredom overtook us, and he began to speak.

He said, son, I’ve made a life out of analyzing games,
And knowin’ people's tactics by the way they named their guys.
So if you don’t mind my sayin’, I can see you’re pretty lame.
'Cause I've tasted some whiskey I’ll give you some advice.

So I let him own the channel and he rambled and he rambled.
Then he watched another game and I thought he'd left the chat.
And the night got deathly quiet, and I almost closed the session.
He said, if you’re gonna play the game, boy, ya gotta learn to play it right.

You got to know when to hold ’em, know when to foul ’em,
Know when to dodge away and know when to block.
You never count your re-rolls when you’re runnin’ for the endzone.
There’ll be time enough for gamin’ so never watch the clock.

Now ev’ry fummbler knows that the secret to survivin’
Is knowin’ who to retire and knowing who to keep.
’cause a zombie can throw footballs and a halfling can get strength skills,
And the best that you can hope for is to get your players deep.

So when he’d finished typin’, he turned off his computer,
Crushed out his cigarette and went off to get some booze.
And somewhere in the darkness he forgot the conversation.
But in his drunken rant I found some tactics I could use.

You got to know when to hold ’em, know when to foul ’em,
Know when to dodge away and know when to block.
You never count your re-rolls when you’re runnin’ for the endzone.
There’ll be time enough for gamin’ so never watch the clock.

You got to know when to hold ’em, know when to foul ’em,
Know when to dodge away and know when to block.
You never count your re-rolls when you’re runnin’ for the endzone.
There’ll be time enough for gamin’ so never watch the clock.

Your friend and me,

Macavity

As much as I despise that song (and Kenny Rogers in general... traumatic childhood memories of being stuck in a minivan with the Greatest Hits on infinite repeat for a long trip <shudder>), I have to congratulate you.

You just made me blow beer through my nose.

The tune is The Gambler by Kenny Rogers. It's like 25 years old or something and my parents made me listen to that stuff when we were in the car.

WOO HOO!!! Resurrecting one of my most pointless threads ever!!!!! I actually just realized that there was an unresponded to post here. Evo, I was thinking that people (meaning me) play worse when they are in a hurry.. anyone have opinions on whether I should change it to Evo's version?

Tehe. I love it. Especially since I just heard the origianal two days ago, so I don't hate it yet. Now sing that for Fumbbl-FM, and we'll give you your grammy.

Well, I can't sing, but if someone can record it, I would love to have it on the radio!! Great idea!
