I find if you stick 3 or 4 players round them you can get three dice, which increases you chances of knocking them down (tackle helps) then once they're down those blocking assists conveniently become fouling assists and you boot them with a Dirty Player and hopefully they never get back up.

Note: this is especially fun for killing those pesky wardancers

Get Tackle. A 2 dice block by a player who has Tackle has a more than 50% chance (20/36) of knocking down a blodger...

Play Dwarves.

Not only would you be able to deal effectively with the Blodgers, you'll virtually never have to face one again..... Rolling Eyes

strip ball is good to take balls , even if it doesnt hurt so much , useless if the blodger has also surehands , but useful if you go 2 dice against , just for avoid a td .
Tacle is useful aginst wd , but also vs los full of blodgers , and also MB helps a lot , usualy the blodgers dont have great av , so take adavantage of your strength

Ok, you want to know my VERY secret trick, the arcane knowledge that allows me to put block/dodgers to the ground?
Well here it goes: I roll POWs. That worked EVERY time on any block/dodger!
Try it yourself!
