Team bios with a wiki could be a great enhancement for the site.
Pros:
- there's already a wiki! Perhaps could be done as another namespace on said wiki (team:Name with 'team:' silently done with mod_rewrite).
- history! I've seen more than one person despair because they made an error saving a large bio and losing most of it - Angry Newscasters being one of them.
- more control! Get rid of HTML exploits, limit the wiki markup team makers can use.
- less markup, easier for users to create bios.

Ok, I haven't thought this through in detail, but the history would be a very handy thing, as would the wiki markup vs pages of <html> avoiding linebreaks (which <br/>).
I'll be surprised if this hasn't been proposed before, but my attempts at locating the equivalent thread were in vain. |
