How does Coach rank work? I know lots of people say don't pay attention to it. But I'm hardly going to challenge a legendary player whilst I'm still learning.

I've recently gone up to Veteran. But I have no idea how it works etc.

(wasn't sure which topic section to put this in either)

You win, it goes up. You lose, it goes down. The amount it goes up/down depends on a combination of the difference in CR between you and your opponent (a legend who loses to a rookie takes a huge CR hit) and the difference in teams (TV difference, possibly race-related modifiers).

CR is a representation of a coach's ability to win the matches he has played.

How you should interpret this statistic is what is normally debated. As Chainsaw mentions there are lots of factors involved.

Whether you should pay attention to it depends on what your aims are (to learn, to win, to have fun, etc).

It is mostly a representation of that player's current form, ie how he has done in his latest matches, you can go from 160 to 170 CR in less than 10 matches I think.

I think you should mostly challenge depending on the team offered but sure be a bit more cautious with a Legendary player, he probably has a very good team. Smile

I think it's a good indicator to decide which games to spec. High cr coaches tend to have solid playstyles and you can usually learn something by speccing and chatting with other specs.

Not sure about being able to go up from 160 to 170 in 10 matches. Sure is you can go down from 170 to 160 in 10 matches Smile

Definitely. Losing with my Norse team hurts much more than with my flings. And actually, even is case of a draw, your CR will change, depending on these factors.

It's easy. You just have to beat 10 180CR coaches in a row.

It's a commonly known fact that 180CR coaches are just luckers, and all luck has waves, you just have to catch the dip!

That is highly unlikely, maybe possible if it was a tournament, but not in normal games.

Variable? I always thought there were standard K values for tournaments.
