Now that the client logs in to FUMBBL before each match how long before we can expect the client to auto upload the results? (If ever)

From what I've been told, there is no easy way to do POST uploads in java, so it's unlikely to get done any time soon.

I'll play with that when I get time and see if it works.

hmmm, what about training matches then?
edit: guess they should just be played without the fumbbl login option on then, never mind me.

Well I'll be. That actually seems to work. Now I'll have to talk with Christer.

Hrm... the only thing I'd worry about is any sort of a crash or connection problem at the end of the game. I assume that the regular upload process will still be an option (more Christer's concern than Ski's, but this is the FUMBBL ideas forum. Smile )

Something like this would save the admins a lot of time as i'm sure over half of the problems they have to deal with are someone not uploading for some reason.

Ohh yeah. I assume not much would change externally at fumbbl. jbb would try to report automatically. If it fails you get a message telling you it failed and you need to upload it manually as you do today. Otherwise you get a success message that tells you there is no need to upload manually.

Bout the only problem i can see is this:

My RL friend, every time we play, when the game finishes his computer crashes. The game does not generate the match report, .ZIP file, ANYTHING. If we try and reload, it just happens again. I get the normal files (zip, report, ect).

My game would report, his wouldn't and he would have no way of reporting it (no zip file) It would cause my team to be locked forever, i imagine.

I don't know if he is the only one that has this problem, but I imagine that he isn't.

You'd have to handle this the same way you do now, get an admin to push the half-reported game.

Interesting, didnt know that could be done. Although it would be a pain for my friend to play (with his comp locking up and all), could he play games? Could just his opponent report count for them both, assuming Admin interaction?

Interesting (still learning the ins and outs of FUMBBL)

I'd imagine he would get real anoying real quick if someone had to upload every game he played. Maybe he doesn't ahve the most recent javva or something.

It sounds like he it running xp and has the driver problem described in the readme.txt file. Known issue #5 I believe? If that is the problem it is an issue between xp and the network drivers he is using. The readme.txt file explains how to fix this.
