I'm not sure where your logic comes from exactly - the LRB begins to discuss leagues (open format) on page 38, and Tournaments have their own chapter on page 46 - I don't see how the league rules - such as hiring freebooters - are 'designed for tournaments' in any way.

It's the tourneys in the back, and from what I remember they state that that's the way to run a tourney. I simply responded to Peikko quote from the LRB.

I'm not sure why you all make a big deal out of my oppinion. |

Well, it was just to fix your faulty assume that LRB was designed for fixed tourneys.
this comment on other hand was wrote just to see that psychedelic quotebox |

I didn't assume that though, but nevermind I should've quoted you, but I decided it would be too weird looking |

Tourneys are generally run with a set roster where injuries recover after each game, and no money is made - thus no freebooting.
I think the real problem here is that people don't like Star Players. |

peikko wrote: | I would like to see another poll about if ppl would like that there would be proper postgame phases on fumbbl. Partly as said earlier one way it could work is:
1) After game you can do your skill rolls and normal purchases. After youre done them you select button "end postgame"
2) After you have selected "end postgame" fumbbl does not give you anymore options to buy new players, apothecaries, cheerleaders, ass coaches or rerolls. Only hiring freebooters, wizards and star players would be possible.
It sounds like it would not be very big alteration to site but I would like to hear word from Christer or Klipp if it is so even before making any polls about it. Althought it might not be big job to add and it doesnt really add much, it would make Fumbbl stick more into LRB rules. |
I think this sounds like a very good idea, and soen't sound to hard to code. Maybe im wrong, im not good at coding
But i think this is the best way to solve this problem. In turneys i dont see a problem with it, cause in most turneys you have no way of deciding who your next opponent is, so it would be for Open/DivX/Stunty/Faciton games only. |

How to enforce coaches to click on that button after his initial "postgame" session though? Ie, what prevents him from not clicking the button until he is about to start his next game (like 30 seconds before it's started)? |

So, to clarify what you are proposing, the change that would be needed is this:
After an upload, and after any new skills are rolled, the current system marks a team as being in the state of "Ready to Play" (denoted by the green <img src="http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL/Images/Roster_small.gif" border="0"> icon). Under the proposed system, you would have a new post-upload state called "Purchasing" which would be exactly the same as the old "Ready to Play", with the exception that you could not start a game with that team while still Purchasing. A button on the team page labelled "Finish Purchasing" would then move the team to the new "Ready to Play" state, in which no permanent changes to the roster can be made: nothing apart from hiring freebooters, wizards and star players, and no player retirements either. There would have to be a warning page when you click the Finish Purchasing button to make sure the player knows that they are forfeiting any further amendments, of course. |

I think they are talking about tournaments running within a League, hence you have the playoffs etc with the 'challenge' system,
I dont have a problem with people freebooting players after a game is agreed, as it is in the pre game sequence after the agreement is made, just like rolling for the gate, weather etc. |
