Undeads are very strong team as it is. They have very strong specialist-players, and cheap cannon fodder linemen. dont complain aabout the ghouls lack of regen - within 1 game they'll be blodgers. Besides if you play bashy vs. dwarves and the like with undead, then its your funeral....

I think we need to playtest the rules. They sound very interesting, sounds too much like a whole new game though.

I guess that's kinda the point Lorion. With that notion you're saying Undead should just avoid bashy teams altogether. Not sure why, most undead teams I play against with my evilest teams still come out fine. Regen makes it frustrating. However, winning with undead against bashy teams is hard, due to all of the guard those teams have. Wights need guard/mb.

Myself, having played against many undead teams and seen most struggle, I just can't bring myself to want to create a team for them. Especially now with the Mummys losing general access. I do think the Mummy change was necessary and good, but please just give Wights strength access back.

Where's Candlejack when you need him, he's the Undead king. I don't know what his opinion is at all, he's likely fine with the changes. Yet he'd know what's for the best one way or another.

The problem with khemri and chaos dwarves is their rosters, not the mummies and bull centaurs. Losing block on a player you can use a team reroll on is not critical to the team, especially not to khemri with easy access to enough guard, but to undead it hurts alot more. Losing G access is the final nail in the coffin (har har).

Maybe a str 5 player without big guy trait is just broken itself.

Yes, every time I see dwarf teams they are always being knocked over, so little guard to protect a player with block tackle and thick skull from being beaten up, wonder how they ever stay alive.

Undead are not bashy? Well they certainly don't get the skills to be anything else... NO passing skills (like chaos, rotters and necro, while orcs dwarves and khemri do get a thrower), 2 str 5 players and regen... but compared to real bashy teams like orcs, dwarves, chaos, CD etc they seem pitifuly underpowered. Sad

Yeah, BB works as it is. Tweak the rules ..... don't give them an overhaul. That's the best way to piss off your current fan base.

AFAIK the new official version will probably be the 2nd half of 2005. So I think you've got a while yet.

As with all changes, you can be assured that they are working on it, asking won't make it any quicker, and we have to wait for the powers that be to finish.

Some of it might make it ... but the vast majority of this stuff like the sweetener system is not planned to even be voted on until October 2005.

This is precisely why, if these rules are implemented, they should be in a fresh division - grandfathering old divX teams would make a mess of it.

I'm beginning to see that different rulesets may gain a foothold within the community; when large numbers of ppl think the changes are too drastic, they stick with the old rules or use house rules, as happened with the infamous 4th edition. The current divX ruleset is to my mind more elegant than the new rules proposed in the playtesting vault, though these new rules are more straightforward, and introduce a number of good ideas which may gain popularity. I believe the ideal happy place lies somewhere between divX and the Playtesting Vault; the LRB isn't without it's merits either - bear in mind that aging DOES work, too; for an example, look at the teams that have climbed too high before, like My 11 Thugz, Deathgerbils Revenge and Flix's Ambassadors of Light in Faction - teams that rose to glory then crashed, and had to rebuild - much like real teams. With a sleepless night ahead looking a good bet (I've got a cold), I might as well run those polls I mentioned...
