Zara has been a busy girl, with a match winning performance in MrNomad's victory with Da Walking Dead over bigGuy's D3.

There was a price to pay, but combined with he efforts of tuomaa's SID Lords they get to claim honours for sending half the Khemri hopeful home.

At least those unlucky Khemri dont have far to go!

'Tis a shame, would've loved to have seen D3 go far again. bigGuy's Khemri are my inspiration for playing the race.

I was in his division too, although as a human coach with my Nuffle Knights since they are my only box team with any kind of record (albeit a dwindling one xP). I lost out to Profis, NickNutria's human team.

WOW, I won my first 2Rounds vs great Dwarf Teams with a hughe Damage vs the Dwarfs. And both Games started pretty awesome great for my Opponent with a spam of Cas/KO vs me, but Rege worked well, a good example how great/OP Regeneration is.

*** Milford from the CoS ***

Oh right, this isn't Milford. Listen. Milford has been missing since the night of the Warpstone Open finals. As far as we know he is still lost somewhere in the tunnels of Skavenblight, nurturing an epic hangover. Or maybe he has been kidnapped by some lunatic rat faction or other. And he never cared much for the Blackbox Majors anyway. So I've been able to convince management to send the trainee. That's why your man Blasensky is bringing you first hand coverage and all the juicy side stories from this year's Crown of Sand!

I'm still not getting a paycheque and my expense tab is pretty limited but hey. I've ridden up here on a proper coach instead of hitchhiking like last time, and I'm staying at a proper hotel. Caravanserai. Whatever. So that's good, isn't it? But enough of me, let's talk about the Crown of Sand. The desert is beautiful this time of the year and certainly preferable to the wet and cold climate of the Empire, so we're seeing a lot of spectator interest. The fans have raised a huge camp at the nearby oasis to celebrate the biggest event the Khemri desert has ever hosted. The new tourney administration decided to do away with the cut and let in any and all applicants. The main event is still 8 teams only but the qualifiers have been expanded to five round tourneys for some teams! So to claim the Crown, you may need to win as many as 8 matches. Box Majors definitely on incline!

And we've seen some pretty fine Blood Bowl already. Death Guard Legion, who won the event two years ago, had to fight their way to the qualifier semi past none less than coach Malmir's Come Hither. The Legion dealt out the pain early on but Come Hither put up a great fight. Experts will be watching the Nurgle qualifier closely, as the bookmakers hold it that the winner of that qualifier is most likely to win the overall event. The Legion are in good shape, but former Wheel of Chaos champs St-Lys Débr'Ailleurs SLDA are looking to meet them in the semi – if they can win their next match!

Walking around the tent city at night, you'll run into a lot of ARR and HLP fans, supporting the underdogs that have shown up in great numbers this tourney. You can really see the impact of the FUBAR organization. Humans are the most numerous of all races, dominating their own qualifier, with Premiership veterans Kinghts of the Last Order and the legendary Sons of Brutus the first to reach the semis. Local supporters are devastated that so few Khemri teams showed up, but there is one last bunch of local heroes still trying to shamble their way into the finals past all those puny mortals, the Tombtown Raiders. Meanwhile, the ARR fans are cheering the Pro Elf/Vampire/Goblin Qualifier, where one ARR team is guaranteed a place in the main event. In the Wood Elf/High Elf/Amazon qualifier, one High Elf team is also guaranteed to play the quali final, but the better bet is on a Wood Elf taking it home. More Elfbowl than anyone expected ever to see in a Box Major! And some great games we've seen already, like Rain Wild vs. Principi or Elf Yourself vs. X-Dressers.

For even more Elfbowl, check out the Dark Elf qualifier, after a weak turnout last year, the evil pointy ears are back in strength! Surprisingly enough, instead of some Elves on steroids, a pretty vanilla team makes the first finalist in the Woeful Wonders. They will be facing either the Shaolin Sadists, who defeated El Drizzto and the Gang in a memorable game, or Lizard champions A Box of Dinomight! who are looking to repeat the Space Tails' recent feat and establish a new age of Lizardmen supremacy. Coach Ulrik was long seen as the one who was going to unforlorn Lizards, he certainly has it in him but the team he brought seems a little lightweight.

What else is there? Lots and lots, more than I can cover in one session. Negative Purple – out! WMDs in the Box – out! Orcs seem to be pretty safely on top of their qualifiers, but watch out for Schnucken, these Chaos seem to be out to spoil the party. Dwarves vs. Necromantic seems quite open (but pity the poor Halfling fools who got caught in between), whereas only a fool would bet against Chaos Dwarves at this point, though there are still some Rats left in the tourney so you can never be sure.

And that's it for now! They say I've got to do a shorter one next time, learn to be brief and to the point like Milford. Ah screw them.

Ah Blood Bowl lovers, we have a new fan favourite. In the all-ARR-qualifier, a Gobbo team makes the semi final! Sandrooster Adult Films LLC defeat the Vampire Specialists of Ankh 2-0 in a demonstration of what gobbos can do. Coach Relezite has been relying on two chainsaws and two fanatics, and I hear that every Goblin groupie in town is knocking on the door of Swinging Codpiece... what a player! Can they repeat the feat against the Pro Vamps and make the qualifier final?

Tonight a great wailing arose in the desert cities of the dead. Many inhabitants of Khemri could be seen shambling through the streets like Zombies. Ah they still remember the winter fairy tale of two years past, when a Khemri team came within an inch of taking the Crown home where it belongs, and unforlorning their race. Lost the final on penalty shootout! And now this. No Khemri in the main draw. Not even in the qualifier final. Humanity prevails.

The Knights of the Last Order knock out the Tombtown Raiders in a hard-fought match in the desert's sweltering heat. Oh, the Khemri played a good game, and the fans hoped, they pleaded, they cheered and cried out in undying rage. But it takes two to boogie, and the Knights played a good game, too. Too fast, too agile and too resilient to the desert sun they were. And even though the Raiders demonstrated that they can play the ball, too, it just wasn't enough.

So who do we have in the qualifier finals so far beside the Knights? Stinky Slap Shot made it in the Nurgle qualifier, beating two former Major winners and still looking in good shape. Is this coach anisdrin's year? Can he win two Majors in a row? Don't bet against it!

And even though the Box fans were wondering how only four Chaos teams could show up for the tourney, one of them still makes the final in the Orc qualifier, as predicted by yours truly: Watch out for Schnucken! Meanwhile, Chaos Dwarves have eliminated all other races in their qualifier, and the infamous Incoming Nightmare make the first finalist.

In the Dark Elf qualifier, Lizard champions A Box of Dinomight! do make it to the final to face the Woeful Wonders. My money is on the scaly fellows to take it home. Dark Elves are falling on hard times.

In the Wood Elf qualifier it's Woodies vs. High Elves as Elf Yourself face Rise Like a Phoenix II in the final. The Wood Elves boast an impressive record but their opponents have the support of the local ARR fans and the Khemri LGBT community. A colourful mix I can tell you! So it's already guaranteed that there will be one Elven team in the final 8, and that's already one more than in the Warpstone Open. Dark Elves and Pro Elves also still possible. What's with the old Ranked and Box stereotypes?

That's it for now, stay tuned Blood Bowl fans!

Managed to get darkies into finals

Despair early on as DP gets sent off with pitiful non-armor breaking double 1.

Okay, skinks had no real solution against leaping tackler, and when their turn 1 pickup failed it gave rather good chance to ramp up the pressure against them. Ball was constantly changing hands but ended up at the end of the half in to the hands of Mirkku.

Second half my Darkies started panicking despite being in solid 1-0 lead. 5 good turns of stalling and then on the sixth I decided to go for a 3+ pass next to endzone. Foolish mistake, as my opponent pointed out. And watching the replay and thinking about it confirmed it: it could have been solid stall for 1-0 win.

Okay so the pass obviously failed and skinks capitalized on it with their own 4+ pass. Damn stunties. Retribution was gained by surfing saurus for -MA.

Overtime started with blitz! and kick and my setup favored it greatly (okay when it doesn't when blitz! happens;) - managed to get a guy under ball but didn't catch. However scatter landed it next to 3 elves and the OT t1 blitz from lizzies caused it to scatter in to the hand of my blitzer. A hand-off later -ma lineman waltzed in with some good fortune on his side.

So to sum it up: Gotta thank blodge, lack of tackle, av 8, Nuffle and blodge again for the win. And thank you Ulrik for providing tough match.

Ah it's Sunday and the matches are coming in, Blood Bowl fans! Some news from the Khemri desert. We have the first contender in the main event, and it's a Dark Elf team after all. Woeful Wonders defeat the Lizards in overtime in a match in which all touchdowns are scored on defence.

As for the qualifier finalists, we know a few more by now. The second one in the Chaos Dwarf group is Love Boat, they're the lightweight in this final but don't count them out, AG5 and Wizard can always win the day. In Quali V we have the Dwarf vs. Necro final the fans have been anticipating, Mektummys vs. midnight express. Necros are a tough match-up for the short fellows, though these at least do not pack Claw MB. But still, my money is on the midnight espress steaming on to the main event. And last not least, in the ARR Qualifier, Pro Vamps will be facing the Pro Elves of pOOh TeAm blackbox. The heroic journey of Sandrooster Adult Films LLC ended in the semi, where the Gobbos managed to take out all but one Thrall but waited in vain for the Blood Lust to get the Vampires in trouble.

While I'm airing this, the game Nadir vs. Tzeench's Tricks is still in progress to determine whether at least one Orc team will make it to the final of their own qualifier, or if two out of the four Chaos teams that bothered to enter will compete for the title.

Welcome back Blood Bowl fans, it's your daily update from the CoS, things are moving fast towards the main draw now! In yesterday's late night game, Nadir managed to defend the honour of the Orc race, beating the Beastmen and Mino squad, but now they are facing a very tough final against a „real“ Box Chaos team.

In the Human qualifier, the legendary Sons of Brutus make the second finalist, while in the Nurgle qualifier it's the lightweight squad of Godzillah who manage to take out Stonetroll's 10tacle Experiment in an overtime nailbiter. 960k inducements, woohoo! Can they do it one more time in the final?

We have two more qualifier winners, Blood Bowl fans, and the winner of the Nurgle qualifier is a small sensation. Godzillah, weighing in at 1420k TV currently, have managed to defeat several heavyweight teams and highly decorated coaches and, supported by fans of all races, Borak, Grashnak and Nuffle himself, and playing some fine Blood Bowl, too, they have achieved the unexpected and bought their ticket to the main draw. Everybody thought that the winner of the Nurgle qualifier would be highly favourized to win the main event, but maybe this would be asking just a little too much of this unlikely squad.

In the Dwarf/Necro qualifier, once more I've backed the wrong horse. I'm sure management will be pleased, because this is just how Milford does it, right? The Deathroller wielding Dwarves of Mektummys join the Nurgz and Darkies in the main draw after dominating the qualifier final. None of these three are the scary brutal Box squads you'd have expected (well maybe the Dwarves are, but, Deathroller?) It's promising to be a very interesting main event, that's for sure!

Welcome back Blood Bowl fans, the Crown of Sand Qualifiers are drawing to a close. With only the Orc vs. Chaos match still open, let's take a look at what's been going on these last few days. The ARR and HLP fans have been going wild and have turned the desert night into one big party. In the Human Qualifier, they were celebrating an epic showdown between two titans of the HLP, the Knights of the Last Order and the Sons of Brutus. The Knights have some great individual players but the Sons stood together as a team, hit hard, and with the routine that comes with close to a thousand (!) matches, took it home. Great displays of brotherhood on the pitch after the final whistle as the Knights wished them luck for the final. A worthy representative of the Human League in the final draw for sure!

Meanwhile, in the ARR Qualifier, the Pro Vamps asserted Vampire supremacy with a clear victory over their somewhat battered Pro Elf contenders. And Rise Like a Phoenix II snatched the win from Elf Yourself in a hard fought final with many ups and downs. The Wood Elves looked on top of it most of the time, until their Super Wardancer killed himself on a leap in the last seconds of regular time and the High Elves won the coin toss for overtime! So that's two ARR teams in the finals, and lots of tequila for the fans.

The Chaos Dwarf qualifier final did not receive quite the same buzz, but Incoming Nightmare who expectedly won it are quite content to play their part as the villain in this piece. They now certainly are among the favourites to win the whole thing.

We'll be back from the main draw soon so stay tuned!
