I rolled a double for a Squig Hopper, 1st skill, and Pro was unavailable. I thought it should have been available, is there something I am missing here? |

Pro is a general trait and Squigs can only get agility skills. So there is no way for the to get pro... |

Ye Pro is a trait. but pro is a general trait so for a player to be able to pick it he should be able to pick general on normal rolls and a Squig Hopper cant course he can only pick AG skills.. |

So on a double, you can only get traits from the groups you can access normally, and the skills from the groups you usually cannot access?
ie, a player with agi only could not get "Dauntless, Frenzy, Leader, Nerves of Steel, Pro, Stand Firm, Strong Arm" on a double?
I hadn't understood from any of the rules that i've read that this was the case, except for physical (which I thought was a special case). Probably just a lack of understanding on my part when reading the rules. |

Yes, that's correct.
You can look at the pages 40 and 41 in the LRB (Gaining Traits):
Quote: | Gaining Traits
To represent the difficulty of gaining a new trait, a player
may only gain one if a double is rolled for them when
making a Star Player roll. If this happens then instead of
gaining any skill, the player’s coach may choose to give
them a single trait. However, the trait must belong to a
category that the player can choose from. For example,
if a double were rolled for a Human Catcher then he
could be given any skill, or a General or Agility trait. |
