I got a +ag roll on his first skill.

Now, I am not sure whether to take it or not. I think, throwing wise, the +ag is not too much help (he needs a 2+ right now for most of my throws, and a 1 is a fumble whether I have 4 or 5 ag).

Is it worth taking? Or is dodge/block better? In what way would a +ag help? Only thing I can think of is throwing or picking the ball up when in a TZ, but I find my throwers VERY RARELY in this situation.

Any advice? Useful, or not? What would you do?

Eh, take it. Of course. Check, the most often taken skill is accurate
" 564](High Elf) Phoenix Warrior: (41%)Accurate , (22%)Sure Hands, (15%)Safe Throw, (8%)Block , (5%)Dodge "

And that skill only affects throws... hmmmm

Of course you take it!!!! Very Happy

Being able to toss those long bombs accurately is an immense advantage, and this is the start of a very promising thrower. At least to me it would

Let me be frank: you would have to be an idiot not to take the +1AGI.

Benefits:
(1) +1 to throws
(2) stacks with accurate +1 to throws
(3) stacks with strong arm - reducing range bracket
=
Long bombs on 2+. Very handy.

Even if you don't get strong arm it makes long passes 2+ after you get accurate.

Other benefits:

(4) Allows you to pick up the ball easier in bad weather and/or TZs
(5) Allows you do dodge into 1 TZ on a 2+
(6) Allows you to throw the ball while in 1 TZ with no penalty over normal
(7) catches are +1 (esp. useful if in a tz and receiving ball from other player)

And there are a myriad more. +1 agi on an elf thrower is by far the best thing you can get ever.

take it
i'd personally go sure hands next, then accurate, then safe throw

with accurate it's long passes at 2+and bombs at 3+, with strong arm in the mix he'll be a god

/me echoes buttercup...

Think of it as getting a couple of traits and a skill (Extra Arms, Two Heads, Accurate and an additional +1 to pickups, leaps, dodging fireballs, etc...) for one roll.
Elves with an extra point of agility are incredibly useful and a lot of fun. Trust me. Smile

+1 ag is amazing on a thrower, the guy can pick up at -1, dodge at -1, and all kinds of crazy shit. ag5 throwers are the best.

It is well worth it! I have a Dark Elf team, the Dark Nightmare. Take a look at my #1 Blitzer. He is just amazing with +1ag and +1st! On a thrower, if you keep him out of being hit too many times, all you need to do is send everybody up ahead, and catch!!!

Elf teams should ALWAYS take +AG when they get it. Only exception I can think of is if you have a MA 10 ST5 AG5 wardancer and maybe want a couple of skills instead of AG6.. Wink

YES, combined with accurate , you will be sitting there chucking long bombs on a 3+ get strongarm in the equation and hey presto 2+ long bombs with re roll for pass skill.

I had a AG 5 Human Thrower... and he was my match winner most of the times. Obviously, my opponents hated him bad.

Ag 5 Throwers are nearly impossible to stop. Just send everybody ahead then throw a well placed bomb in their arms while laughing.

In defence, keep the guy out of troubles until you can blitz the ball carrier. Then use the AG 5 to take the ball out of the carnage, throw it to your runner and have him score.

TAKE IT NOW.

Thanks guys. Never used elves before, and I was blinkered.

Took the +ag, and am sure it will be the founding of a strong player.
