Hey all.
I am going to be changing race in my tabletop league and I was wondering what people thought about what appear to be my two clear options. The issue for me is that they have their similarities and I am struggling to decide. So I am putting it out here.
Option 1: High Elves. Better AV which may help as time goes on. Also, I have done pretty well wth them in the Box with the Walkens of Choice as well as Ranked with the Harriers. Naturally league is a different animal but it might help if playing against bash.
Option 2: Pro Elves. Finally starting to enjoy playing them. I haven't played them in the Box but I am pleasantly surprised by the Boomsticks. My big issue is the low AV. Over time I may well not save any money because I will probably be replacing more of them. Nerves of Steel is fun but not a deal breaker. The PE blitzer is probably better but again, I can always give an HE blitzer sidestep.
Anyways, please help me make up my mind. Seasons are 7 games. The new MVP rule is already in but not the rebuy rules. The rebuy rules will come in in some form but probably with a higher base TV than as written. You don't have a limit on team seasons either. Can play them as long as you like. Please explain why you made your choice.
Thanks all! |

There are other considerations as well on tabletop: do you have all the models fpr each race? Are they both painted or do you want the motivation to paint one team? Which models are better looking? These things surely matter! |

Got models. Painted. Look good. Not a major issue. 😄 |

If you will be playing them for a long time and have some patience, HE -- can end up with a kickin (2000+) team after 4-5 seasons. Otherwise PE, more fun imo. Also in TT you tend not to see the MB you get online, plus wider range of races, so AV7 tends to do better overall. |

There is a fair chunk of MB around! But I see what you mean.
And yes, I would be planning on keeping them for as long as possible. |

I see no counter-argument for Pie.
No Macavaity listing either... |

HE because AV 8 keeps them alive longer. |

The best elves by far are woodies, if you like a fun challenge play pro elves. High elves aren't bad, but you need lot's of skills to get them going. |

Pro elves are more fun... and with the new fluff, it gives you an opportunity to combine models of different types if you wanted a mix of Woodie, High, Dark, or just awesome elf models. |

Agreed with others here: If the league is short, Pro Elves are more fun. If it will be a long league where teams persist for many seasons, High Elves build better. |
