From the way he described it, implementing optionality would have been a challenge in itself.
Mind that technically skills operate a bit like instants in MTG. Ie. you can trigger them in response and you technically only ever have to use them at the very last moment where they are relevant.
Since tabletop play requires active participation of the coaches in engaging the rules, it makes sense to say: If you forget about a skill then you just don't happen to use it.
For online gaming unfortunately the opposite is the case and faithful implementation of stacking optionality is increasingly complex to order.
In a way it can't be even ordered because rule conformity would allow various different execution orders based on preference. |
