The legends league and DLE are two leagues I've played in where you basically have unlimited money, so there is a way around that |

yes. with custom rulesets you can make your own rosters as well as decide how many players needs to be fielded. |

It would be really great if we could move teams to a different ruleset.
Or maybe have a special case where ruleset 6 could play vs ruleset 303. |

Sadly we got error messages and it wasn't to be. I had a feeling it was going to be a really fun game. Plus my Ogres have never squished Pixies before. Was going to be a good day out for the boys. |

...but what's the point of having a team of big guys? larger icons? |

I think Centigor would be more true to the spirit of a Big Guy league than Zoat. They're not true Big Guys but they're all Boneheads and they have ST2 linos.
Really, it would be simple enough to drum up whatever Big Guy team you wanted though. |

That's true. I mean the idea nees more flesshing out but that's what this thread is for. To brainstorm ideas. Which custom rules or team creation rules make the most sense etc.
Mostly i'm just worried people will run the 'big guy' teams but will end up just focusing more on the linos for everything. I want to set the rules to you having to use the max amount of big guys atleast or as many as possible (as some BG's are 150k like Rat Ogres so it's impossible to have all 6 in a starting 11) |

I'd suggest using a custom ruleset, and running it as a 7s league.
Then, custom make the rosters
Trolls - 0-6 Trolls, 0-2 Goblins
Ogres - 0-6 Ogres, 0-2 Halflings
Giants - 0-6 Giants, 0-2 Pixies
Treemen - 0-6 Trees, 0-2 Pixies
Minotaurs - 0-6 Minos, 0-2 Centigors
or something along those lines. Require 8 man rosters (allowing for a 1 man bench), give enough starting cash that money isn't an issue, and insist that all teams must run with maximum bigs |

I'd also want to allow the other big guys too like the Kroq-Ra, Yheti, the lion statue thing etc. I'll have to go through now and compile a list of every single big guy.
I also have no idea how to compile or implement these custom rosters or rules so if someone knows how to do that then that would be great. |

Possible Big Guy League teams.
Kroxigors: 0-6 Kroxigors, 0-2 Skinks

Trolls: 0-6 Trolls, 0-2 Snotlings
Giants: 0-6 Giants, 0-2 Pixies
Treemen: 0-6 Treemen, 0-2 Pixies
Rat Ogre: 0-6 Rat Ogres, 0-2 Slaves
---------Other Options--------------
Werebears: 0-6 Werebears, 0-2 Werecat
Bone Giants: 0-6 Bone Giant, 0-2 Skeletons
Kroq-Ra: 0-6 Kroq-Ra, 0-2 Skeletons
Fen Beasts: 0-6 Fen beasts, 0-2 Pixies
Yowies: 0-6 Yowie, 0-2 Drop bears
Giant Cave Squigs: 0-6 Giant Cave Squig, 0-2 Squig herder (need some thought)

Some critiques for you
Quote: | Trolls: 0-6 Trolls, 0-2 Snotlings | I'd probably give them Goblins, because 0-6 Really Stupid is going to make the team nearly unplayable. They'll need a lineman or 2 on the field just so the Trolls can function, so the AV7 goblins are almost a necessity. I'd almost say that linemen for a team like this would need a deeper bench too
Quote: | Giant Cave Squigs: 0-6 Giant Cave Squig, 0-2 Squig herder (need some thought) | Like the Trolls above, this team will definitely need a deeper bench to not be a chore to play. Really Stupid (and if they're like the stuntee Squigs, bloodlust) will leave this team failing more than anything
Quote: | Gnomish Contraptions: 0-6 Gnomish Contraptions, 0-2 Linemen (need some thought) | Use Stunty Leeg gnome lineman. Otherwise, this team will be brutal to face. No team in this type of league should have ST3 linemen
Quote: | Changelings: 0-6 Changeling, 0-2 Familiar (likely not workable) | This might be workable, depending on how willing your ruleset administrator is to put in all the book keeping. Anyone using this roster would need a customized roster that you'd be altering on a regular basis.
Quote: | Bone Giants: 0-6 Bone Giant, 0-2 Skeletons | ST6 bigs and the most solid ST3 linemen in the league. Either the skellies are ST2, and the giants are ST5, or the skeletons have to be ST1 simply for balance sake.
Quote: | Kroq-Ra: 0-6 Kroq-Ra, 0-2 Skeletons | Like above, the skeletons would have to be ST2 at the strong end, just to be balanced. Should probably also tack on decay
Quote: | Werebears: 0-6 Werebears, 0-2 Werecat | Ag4 werecats will be a bit problematic, but at least they lack stunty, so they aren't 2+ anywhere threats. |
