Up until today, I had no problems connecting to the chat channel. Today though, I can't connect. I downloaded and setup HydraIRC, but had the same problem. This is what I get on both systems (more or less).

[00:16] ERROR Closing Link: Temper[cs6668160-200.austin.rr.com] by Brussels.BE.AfterNET.Org (G-lined)
I have a friend who had the same problem starting today. We are both in Austin, TX where I believe the author to be (That is where he hosts files anyway).
Anyone have any tips to fix our problem? |

Blech...okay, I sent them mail. But I have next to no faith in support@anything.com. Any clue how long something like this takes to deal with? Are there other options for me? I am going through DT's waiting to get my BB fix.

That's weird, I cannot connect to chat at all either
I usually use Trillian, but I tried the Java applet, MIRC, IceChat, and a couple other rinky dinky IRC chat clients. Nothing works I always get the same message. Connection Refused. maybe this is the end for me... |

It could very well be a new firewall that blocks the ports used by IRC. |

ok. Of course, I have received no reply from afternet because support links are there to distract customers from real ways to reach the group. I am sure that I will otherwise be left out for the weekend at least.
Is there some alternate way for me to find bloodbowl matches? Please? Anyone wanna play?  |

That's pretty much a sure sign that a new firewall or some sort of network change is now blocking the standard irc ports. I'm really not sure that there is anything you can do to continue playing from work, without you asking some questions of your network support guys that would let them know you are doing something that (I assume) you aren't really supposed to be doing. |
