Expanding on an idea from another thread, EvolveToAnarchism set me on the path to creating a page for the concept of grabbing any team roster, yes... ANY team roster and playing that team! Of course, the retired team or current team of yours, or Legendary team of yore won't count for anything, but it'd be a real hoot to see what your rock-hard Chaos could do to one of Deathgerbils legendary teams, wouldn't it?
The idea is you grab a friend, startup a game, grab whatever rosters take your fancy, and just play for a giggle. Please feel free to comment, suggest whatever, and before too long I hope evo will be able to host the rosters so the links will work. The page can be found at http://fumbbl.com/help:Classic+Teams

Nice idea. I would like to se a version of "My 11 Thugs" in their prime. And some of Wuhans old teams.
Would be nice to for a non fouler like me to actually foul it out with the blessing of good old wuhan (the only extreme fouler to never reach my black list).
Then I personally would like to se one of Cusis old teams, to honor him by.
No disrespect to anyone. But I remember Cusi fondly. He was the first person that I met online here that actually helped me and was nice to me. So it would be nice to have his teams still being played on fumbbl. |

Well, most of the point would be to play the teams that capture the imagination. These might be teams of coaches departed, teams that scare the crap outta ya, that elven team you saw a few months ago that had about 10 +AG's on the team...whatever floats your boat. All it needs (once the hosting situation is sorted) is a copy of the roster of the team you want. |

I suggested the User Guide for a number of reasons:
1. It allows for nice formating.
2. It can enhance the sense of community at FUMBBL.
3. It allows several people to work on the project.
4. BadMrMojo (of the User Guide Mods) suggested that the Recordia Spluttanica go there and this project is of the same nature.
Isn't reason nice? Things actually make sense when you use it.

For those not quite with it yet, the page is setup, yet hosting the actual rosters has yet to be resolved. Fingers crossed it will be sorted very soon, but until it is, the rosters can't be kept, and therefore can't be used. Once the rosters are able to be hosted, I propose the community offers teams to be displayed and used, using the link shown at the bottom. The rosters would, in my estimation, be teams of some importance or other significance (such as a cusi memorial team), and to minimise duplication, these rosters should be chosen for that teams peak potency, be it TR, TD scoring ability or cas infliction zenith.
This is about the teams you want to play with/against, so you find them, post them, play them. There is a suggestion that some all-time legends will be seperated out in future, for the Hall Of Fame (or some such). Another possibility is that the page gets ordered to display the top 5 (or 10, whatever) of each race, TR/TS, cas/TD's etc. Up to you guys, you use it, you help build it, you'll help shape it. |
