First of all a rocking site, I have avoided the various online community game stuff, other than a board or two, for a long time. Now my wife can suffer like so many other women.... and hassle me when my addiction is at full bore. My buddy that introduced this site is in deep dodo.

1) All the teams, plus many that did not exist 10 years ago.

2) Fast, can get a game played in 90 minutes.

3) I can play at any time

4) Free, well I plan on supporting this site, any other system than PayPal, do not like their new rules.

But here are some items took me some time to get past or I think would help, my opinion of course. Some there are solutions but not intuitive.

1) Link to Users Guide should be under Rules. Believe it or not I played a few games before I found it. Answered half my questions and problems I was harassing people about.

2) Fan Factor, I have been "passed over" by a fair amount of players in Ranked play due to low Fan Factor. I thought a 5 was passable from the old TT days. As I lost a few games, FF down but Ratings grew, more people side stepped me. With that said, many decided "GAME ON". Maybe a blurb somewhere, start with at least a 7 for this league.

3) An icon next to the coach as to understanding of English, not bashing, but as a native NA English speaker I can ramble. (Trust me my Greek can pass restaurant mustard but not BB Smack Talk, so I can relate) I almost always ask if they mind me bantering, commenting, and just plan smack talking. Some have not even understood that. There I am blabbing for no reason or they get annoyed at my delays and streams of English going by. Maybe coach’s info that can be said, but I rarely have time to look.

4) Playing on a time limit or perceived time limit. I try and stick to the 4min turns, but not always. Even then that is 128 minutes, and I am averaging about 85 minutes. I have had a game or two they expect to be done in under an hour. Yes there is etiquette, but some people probably paying for connection time, those can be identified. Since I am aware of other peoples needs it pressures me. I want to relax and have a good time. Others are trying to have the 100meter dash version of BB.

5) A better understanding of the various Divisions. Yeah the FAQ does address them. But I felt I did not get the feel of the delineations.

But all in all, OUT DAMN STANDING. After this site I had to go digging to find my old minis and roster sheets I had. The most Serious Beer and Pretzel Smack Game (Naval War is the king mack daddy of Smack Beer and Pretzel Games) has me hooked again. It looks like I'll be spending a lot of time on this site. Need to see if I can get it on my work laptop so when I am in the middle of nowhere on business I can do something I actually want to. (most TV blows chunks).

As I said, I ramble and love to banter. So do as you like with the post, look forward to meeting you on the pitch, ya' woosies.

Welcome. Please pay your dues and earn your stripes before giving out "suggestions".... Much of what you have said has been hashed overin some way or another in the past.

On another note, welcome. Nice to see more fellow NA here. We need more NA here.

My undead started with ff 6

That steadily grew to a healthy 23.

If you win the majority of your games it isn't strictly essential to have ff9.

Whoever thought that up obviously loses alot...

Welcome aboard. Looks like you're doing a great job of figuring out our little idiosyncracies already, but thanks for bringing them up.

Also, just in case you missed the deadpan sarcasm, FF9 is not a rule. Just about everyone around here does strongly advise it, given the open format and the sheer number of games you can get in (making it a really valuable investment), but it is certainly not a rule, of course.

I agee as a fairly new player... this is the best thing on the web. Way better then free porn.

I agree it has a few flaws, like the amount of interceptions. TN 6+ but the ball is intercepted 3/5 of the time!

I enjoy banter in my games, one aspect that playing on the table is better for, but at least if I am playing a whinning mean person I dont have to respond and really dont have to read what they are saying.

Welcome aboard

A coach's country of origin (Or current location) can be found on their info page. 95% of the coaches i've incountered speak English pretty well. You'd be hard pressed to find a proportionate amount of native English speakers who know other languages. But take into account that a coach from Kamchatka may not know your language or care. As for the other suggestions....FF is a team's life blood. In the long run, a team is only as good as it's fans. Even the most stalwart teams get good players popped. It'd be nice to be able to replace em.

It's good to see somebody around to play games with while the old worlders are all snoozin away.

/me points out that BP's tithe was for running EMU and since Thrall now does that Thrall demands the tithe be payed to him instead.

I disagree with this statement. Sometimes it makes a lot more sense to get someone who is not user to the idiosyncracies (sp.) of a site/program to point out the things that they found difficult. Once you get used to them, you tend to work around the little things, ignore them, or even forget about them. In my opinion it is GOOD to have a reminder of what some of these things are.

I find that the games I enjoy most are the games that don't take more than 80 minutes to complete. I'm still perfectly happy getting my teams destroyed, IF the other coach isn't taking 8 minutes for each frigging turn. And if you are taking the full four minutes, you better have something good up your sleeve.
