I've played bloodbowl quite a lot against mainly one friend, who is far too lucky for a fair game but aside from his bonus jam, I have such evil luck I can only assume the above. Bloodbowl in some gestalt form has a distinct dislike of me.
Case in point, first game played as a ranked Fumbbl team, I get illegal drugs, and have a st 4 werewolf, st 4 and frenzy, and claw?
Scary, so I think.
Shame he died on the first turn, leaving my team weaker after the match than before.
It's not a lone incident, though all the others occurred on the real board.
I'm starting to feel paranoid. :s

Have you made the obligatory sacrifices to Nuffl yet?

Well... could be worse.

At least you didn't face that scary line "(1) Apo fails"...

Join my Cult of Misfortune.

FYI: He died during your opponent's second turn.

Oh, and to put some salt into your wounds: Check out the guide to playing a necromantic team. Never (and that means *never*) leave your wolves alone. If you do, they'll die. A quick and horrible death. Usually the first time you leave them alone. I speak from experience Twisted Evil

I was at the other end of something a lot like that.

First game after 2004 rules review, first turn in the game of Orc's (me) Vs. Skaven, my Troll kills his 36 SPP Block, Tackle, Guard - Ratogre, Apo fails.

Luck is what you make of it... I'm generally accounted as the unluckiest guy in our TT leagues, but my win record is rather high, all you have to do is play the teams that will let you fail critical rolls and still have a chance (to live if nothing else).

Don't play Necromancers without Apo or Regen on key players, play Orc's or Chaos or something similar, with good Armor and staying power.
Buy LOT'S of rerolls (6+) as soon as you can afford them and play safe.
- Assume all dice will come up 1, and plan after it.

Five Rerolls is all any team needs. Except for Vampires.
Any RR you buy after the fifth raises your TR but has a very high chance of being wasted. Unless, of course, you plan to reroll all pushbacks... Rolling Eyes

Yep... bloodbowl hates you. I recommend lying in a corner in a foetal position for a few months untill the nasty nasty bloodbowl feelings go away.

bloodbowl hated me too, so i left for a while and now it just moderately dispises me.

about 1 game in 5 the luck swings my way though and i can do nothing wrong.

Skill owns luck most of the time.

Oh, calm down, the wolf could have been better, since I lost my real ST4 claw migthy blow wolf in a match, turn 16, last opponents action (blitz).

I had a game where both of my opponents wolves die in the same match. The first was a dauntless, +AG wolf who blitzed my Black orc, failed dauntless, rolled a skull, and died. The second was a blodgy, +ST wolf who fell over right in front of my ball carrier. At that point, several of my orcs "accidently" fell on top of him, causing grievous injuries that resulted in his death.

Very true. Any time that I play against a necro team, I will do everything in my power to get those wolves off the pitch. Using a wolf like a typical catcher and sending him upfield alone will result in him getting blitzed, then fouled.
