Dear Abbey,
My Favorite thing to do on fumbbl is make teams. I enjoy Making stupid pun team names and follow that with players who have names that also relate in some how to that name.
Anyways, I sometimes browse team names, to see what has been taken or not taken. I thought of a sort of funny bad pun name, and proceeded to look for it. A team called "Nights of the living Dead." http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=team&op=view&team_id=25640 . I see it is inactive. I also see that the coach who owns it hasnt been online for about 105 weeks. 2 years and counting. The team isnt made, its just kept there unused. Am I just out of luck here or is it possible for one of the Mod Squad to drop that team off his list and let someone more active get his kicks out of it? I figure Id be a better owner than him.

yeah its not cool at all when some coach who has dropped off the face of the earth has your awesome team name and retired them after a game, etc. i think there should be a rule, like if you're inactive for more than a year and a team with less than 10 games (or retired) can be deleted for someone else to use. |

They might come back someday. It cant be just deleted, just retired I believe. |

Teams cannot be deleted
One of the mods (CandleJack I think) mentioned in an older thread that retired teams should not be renamed. not sure if it is because of a matter of policy, or a database issue...

I think coaches (and teams) that have been inactive for one or two years should be deleted...
I'd really wanna change my nick to 'Tomas' since it's my name, but that is taken by someone who isn't around anymore... |

I had what i thought was a really cool teamname: All your base are belong to us ( http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=team&op=view&team_id=38889 ) ... But for some reason i retired them, and then i wanted to use the teamname again i just named the next team AllYourBaseAreBelongToUs .
If you dont get that team deleted, just name your new team to: "NightsOfTheLivingDead". |

I made a team and it was approved. After I was like, Damn, I want to change the name. As long as you haven't played a game you can change the name but you have to wait for it to get approved again. I'm pretty sure I did that. If the mods can get into his account and change his name, which they can cause they changed one of mine even after I played 5 or 6 games with them, then you're in luck. Just ask one. They didn't seem to like the name "Old School A-holes" so they changed it to "Old School Treehuggers". Sons of....... |
