I couldn't find a thread dedicated to this, so I thought I'd post here...

I finally found time to read through the Vault 1.9 handbook, and have a few questions followed by a few typos.

Here are my questions:

1) The description for Bombadier indicates that "All skills that may be used when a football is thrown may be used when a bomb is thrown also." Does this mean that HMP works with bombs? If that is the case, one could essentially have an artillery battery in the backfield. Very Happy

2) Why is Break Tackle restricted to one use per turn?

3) Disturbing Presence indicates a -1 modifier to pass, interception, and catch actions. Why not also -1 to picking up the ball?

Here are some typos:

1) p. 35, first paragraph of "2. Inducements"... 'loses' should be 'losses'.
2) p. 48, "Hurry Up Offense" effect... 'rolls' should be 'roll'.
3) p. 50, "Ballista" description... the second 'along' should be 'allowing'.
4) p. 51, "Mindblow" description... 'utilizes' should be 'utilize'.
5) p. 61, part 7 of "The Pass Sequence"... 'he' should be 'the'.

I take it your typo was a typo, and your typo of their typo was just a typo...so I apologise for indicating your typo, but your typo of their typo should, were it not for a typo, have been utilise.

P.S. Knackers to "U.S. English"...it's spelling is correct (English), or your a dumb yank who can't spell it correctly.

EDIT: Thanks for pointing out the typo...I personally think hitting the "i" key and it not registering is a lesser crime than swapping the "s" for a "z"...but i'll let others be the judge...Pretty ironic though, I have to agree... Very Happy

Yep. Still has to get the skill, but once you do, artillery time

It's that way in LRB 4 as far as I know, so it hasn't changed

Foul appearance was split into two skills. Disturbing Presence is the modifier to pass, int, and catches. Aside from the spliting of the skill, this is the same as it is in LRB4.0.

Ah, I didn't realize that Break Tackle could only be used once in 4.0... wonder why that is?

And I didn't realize that Foul Appearance currently does not affect pick-ups. My bad. Seems odd to me that it doesn't, though.

Break tackle only works once per turn to make it possible to stop players like Htark from reaching the ball carrier.

If FA affected pickups the rotter team would automatically win or tie any drive if they managed to knock the ball loose once. Compare it to nerves of steel. If it worked on pickups (which I assumed back in the days..) skinks would always be able to pick up the ball anywhere.

Maybe the logic is, with a catch, pass, or INT, you're looking up, and so they wheedle their festering way into your field of vision. With a pickup roll, you're looking at the ground, where the ball is.

Or some game balance thingy.

There are 50 million English people. 250 million Americans. See any difference? I utilize all I can whenever I can. And by the way, correcting American English while not being able to write English is not ironic, only embarrasing.

English is 65 percent Latin and Greek. The rest is French and old Norse. So basically, English is just a mix up of languages with a prescriptive grammar, and British people who like to spell funny. Like Leicester, why not Lester, if you prounounce it like that anyway?

thanks for that hunter. Good timing for me as we are working on finalizing 1.10 right now so getting these typos fixed is great as 1.10 won't change for 5 months ... so I'd rather catch as much of this now as possible.

if thats the case we sould rename the CD and Vamp teams to Hobgoblin and Thrall teams then Wink

Seriouls at high TR, ogres are unstoppable... 11guard ogres means you need 1 assist just to get a -2db!

Snotlings provide a different angle... they are really really cheap and can dodge better than anyone else... 2+ to any square! providing easy assists for your ogres to get 3 dice on any opponent... Sure they have been toned down, but I think its a necessary (and fun) change... 11 Ogres isnt fun Wink

buying twelve ogres in real life isnt fun when you cant use them Mad an "ogre " team should have some ogres in it, at least eight. giving them loner as well as bonehead plus a cost of 140k has weakened them alot maybe some kind of always hungry/bloodlust hybrid neg trait aswell and there you have it, a completely useless ogre team, but with mostly ogres, i dont care how useless they are just dont pretend that 0-16 snotlings and 0-6 ogres is an ogre team, just look at it 0-6 ogres you dont even have to have any!! just another quick fix that hasnt been thought out. i agree they probably are to powerfull later on but just turning them into a snotling team is not the answer.
