Not really. When the league commish drops out, it becomes a pain to give it an end. I prefer to be sure that coach stays on, (posting in forum helps to be known too) and then join such a tourney.
What doesn't mean you can create such a tourney.
But if you learn by playing in one, you will see that handling deadlines, drop outs from some coaches with a bad behavior, finding replacement and make it run smoothly is definitely not that easy! |

I don't see why not really. If you set up the tourney well and do your job as needed to run it I don't see why people wouldn't play in it. If you have been playing and understand the game I don't think it is that big of a deal. Oh well, good luck. |

ok, that's how I see it. A tournament runs into high and lows (mine is in a low period, actually). You have to really put efforts in gathering new blood and it's difficult.
Myself, when I join a tournament, I try to play my games and so one and give my time for that. And I've been into tournaments that died during the course because of drop outs and guys that left that led to the commish being demoralized and so on.
If I give some of my time I expect for the commish to do the same, at least to ensure it ends. When I don't know the coach, I need really a special concept to have the envy to join.
For exemple, I ve joined Tyrant's grudge league because it was based on fluff. But he was a beginning coach. Guess what, he left. But thanks to Karhummies, it relived under his leadership (though it's not that much about fluff anymore). So actually, I usually prefer to play with leaders I know.
Exemple: if I see you more Lupus, in the chat or in forum, I might start to think: "hey this guy is reliable" and then finally join, he he.
For exemple, I don't consider Thorpe to be really new, now. |
