yea ibson, that was someting i was thinking about... see previous posts for what I started to do!
but whats the actual maximum proposed size that we are likely to get? what will fit on a 1200x800 res screen?

My sample field shown is a rescaled regular field to 1201x601 (what skijinkie has indicated would be hte easiest to scale to)...the right half of the field has 3 'random' real life miniatures I grabbed out of my collection of pics scaled down to 54 pix high (for the ogre), 60 pix (for the kroxigar- his arm sticking up need more space) and 30 pix for the goblin (a stunty fig)... this would be a good indication of what pics of RL minis could look like on the larger field option. Of course some minis would require a little work to make the look 'good' but many would just need scaled down. My IBB reference pic was just to show what could be done with mini pictures (as opposed to icons).

I figure the easiest thing is to get the fields themselves 'upsized' first...then all the icon folks can go wild and we can choose for ourselves (like now). The regular positions circles could be the default to start on the big fields or even the smaller icons of the normal field if no big versions are available.

Another question arises...what will be the default name of the big version. If 'artists' are going to start creating the fields/pics/icons, it would be nice not to have to rename them down the road.... for fields, since we have Field_good.jpg and Field_smallgood.jpg, I'd suggest Field_biggood.jpg. It's what I did for my sample anyway. What about icons/pics?

Damn Pat. Those big Dwarfs you have made look absolutely beautiful. Are you just doing all the fronts now? or will you begin making the sides too soon?.

I love those dwarves as well. Given any thought to using more hair colors to make runners and slayer stand out a bit more? Maybe gold/yellowish beards for the runners? Maybe redish beards for the slayers? Dunno if they would look right or not, just thinking out loud. Smile

One might wonder where those heavy boots vanished? Well the thruth is they looked so cumbersome in the air so I thought he could manage without them and put them on again after landing.

Just a note.
Some of the icons differs too little between red and blue. Mainly the Chaos Warrior (I think the stomach shield should be blue on the blue one) and the Witch Elf.


And I like the fat halfling better.

btw, this is and awesome work in progress.
