For german users www.chessgate.com its also an english client version but most of the players are germans

If the fumbbl community had a chess division there would 20 people hanging out in gamefinder with their white team offering to play your black team.

Should be relatively easy to program chess in Java modifying the client. Reusing the icons could then give race vs. race matches for the added BB feel!
