Having played more than enough Bonehead players here on fumbbl I have to inform you on one thing:
You can give a player all the cool skills in the book, BUT if he stands around doing absolutely NOTHING 1/6, then he isn't very good.
That's basically why vampires are allowed to have the insane 4ag 4st combo as well as total skill access!
When I place 11 +16spp ogres on the field they sure look good... but that's about it |

Pro even if SF comes in a close second.
yet I'd save that for his 3rd double. |

I gave my krox stand firm as i usually play bashing teams, blodgers wont get near him too often. sf is best with the tail and his other skills. dodge is nice as soon as he gets break tackle but that's 10 cas/int away, until then it will only help when getting hit. sf helps dodging as well. pro will save aproximatly one bonehead per game and could prevent just 17/36 doubleskulls. as he is unlikely to roll too many doubleskulls and i mainly use him as roadblock, i think i can handle him even without pro.
thx for all your input.

I gave SF to this monster and he is probably my best and most useful player ever. But I guess the +st helps too... |

I voted Sidestep.
Its a hilarious skill for bigguys. First of all people sledom notice the sidestep first time they block him. ive had several people cursing him when they rolled pushbacks on the LOS. It can also be a bugger since his tial makes it harder to dodge away.
I guess sidestep and Stand firm works much the same way (with the added bouns when doding with SF of e |

Though I can't argue with the virtues of Pro on a Big Guy, I also just can't get over the fact that Stand Firm is the skill for turnover prevention, which is what Big Guys excel at. Though it may only work on dodges, once he has Break Tackle he'll be dodging all the time. Pro gives you a chance at a second chance on many actions. Stand Firm gives you 100% chance of not turning over that dodge roll. I just don't trust the dice enough for Pro to be too attractive for me. Besdies, I would give every player Stand Firm if I could (heh...my great 3rd edition wood elf team, all the catchers got Stand Firm before long...) |
