Combat Cars , anyone remeber that old MadMax -inspired tabletop game where u packed a car full of rockets mines and flamethrowers and blew ur opponents to pieces? Now that would be a cool online-javabased game dont u think, buying new weapons and modding ur cars and shooting eachother up.
If i were a programmer that would be my mission... |

I loved it. There is actually a Steve Jackson game called car wars which is the same sort of thing with a much higher level of complexity. Takes an age to start off but is a hoot to play and design. |

The name of the game was Car Wars ! It was pretty cool ! I had the french version ! Autoduel was a computer conversion very cool too !
I know that it was possible to play online Car Wars ... But not anymore ... I think because of copyrights. The site has changed ! http://www.autoassault.com/pre-order/index.html
Before this site was to play online original Car Wars ... Now site has been bought I think and it's another game ...

STeve Jackson also published 'Battle Cattle' which is basically the same thing, except you have a cow with rocket launchers, flame throwers and machine guns mounted on it 
EDIT: And it's compatible with Car Wars so you can play Auto a Cow-o... |

I don't know Combat Cars, but GW made such stuff witzh fighting on vehikles ,too: Dark Future and Gorkamorka. |

I believe that Dark Future was the original name translated into swedish as Combat Cars (yes, weird, huh!).
Or perhaps it was som other game, but Combat Cars isn't the original name.
But the link Albator provided looked interesting...
I've always liked MadMax etc... That's why I'm sad that I have never played GorkaMorka... |

Of course! Paranoia is great. Half of the time the players are killing themselves either by testing broken equipment or in-group firefights. Loved to play it because it´s not as "serious" as other RPGs... |

I fondly remember us all having to write a report about the mission with as the result that we were all executed for various degrees of treason. (communist/traitor/mutant etc) |
