Hi folks

Im thinking on different deffensive setup vs dwarfs. What do you think about let the dwarf do lots of one dice blocks?

This would be the setup

xxMS|BSMxMSB|SMxx
xxxx | xxxSxxx |xxxx

where M is a mummy, B a blitz ra and S a skeleton.

I dont care about the side lines because of the dwarf's low MA.

What do you think?

EDIT: hehehehe, sorry... xD. There is no dwarf with guard, is a rookie team and he only have one troll slayer with dauntless.

It's all good.

Problem is that Dorfs usually have guard and dauntless. Which means "a lot of TWO DICE blocks" to me...

I think that Dwarves have lots of Guard and Dauntless and their coach will be rubbing his hands in glee at getting free blocks on up to 10 of your players on the first turn of their offence.

(BTW, what's your hack for getting 12 players on the pitch? I'd really love to know that one …)

I prefer to use this:

XXXX|SXXSXXS|XXXX
XXXX|XXXXXXX|XXXX
XXMX|XMXXXMX|XMXX
XBXX|SXXXXXS|XXBX

And I think both teams should be destroyed...

But the set up looked good, though.

Unless these are rookie dwarves, you're asking for it. Dwarves have tons of guard, MB, Dauntless, which means those squishy skeletons will drop out earlier than normal and you'll have ten of your guys on their butts at best.

Either way it's asking for a beating in some way or another - even with dwarves' low MA they'd be able to outmanouver you if coached with some amount of skill. Better to leave 3 skellies on the LoS and 4 Mummies back 1-3 squares.

Still, 1d blocks with Block on 7ar players work wonders and with both Blitz-ra in the los, he can even get deep in your half with a Blitzer and a couple more players if he's lucky (Dwarf elf-play lol)

Yarr - you completely leave the initiative to him. Of course it's up to you but I wouldn't like it Razz

Ok, thanx 4 the answers, i think i'll give him 3 skellys to block and the rest will wait behind 2 or 3 squares.

Thank you all.

Beware with Dwarves. I played new Dwarf vs new Khemri and with more rr it's always worth trying -2 dice block vs non block (mummies). In that game I nailed the Khemri big time and they conceded half way through the (destructive) first half...

Saying that, another Dwarf team I had 3 deaths and half a dozen cas (I retired my team after game, what was left of it) so maybe it's all down to dice :S

Who does set up the whole team at LoS when having kick off???

Anyway, you put more than 2 players at each side. So, this set up is not allowed at all Wink

I'll have to disagree with you there, Mark - he has exactly 2 players on each side Smile

Personnally, I would go with 2 Skel on the LoS and a Mummy on the center
He will try to block her 2d using 2-3 guys for that. Then you can move your other mummies to the front to block his players : one mummy for 2 LB you get the number advantage for the rest of the field.

Worth a try Smile
