I am one of those annoying people , some would call annoracks who passionatly follow a few bands and know pretty much all there is to know about them. I was just wondering what the wonderful people of Fumbbl have to say on the matter of greatest british rock band ever and see if any share my passion for some bands. |

darn i didnt realise it limited you to 6 options, for those who would like to put forward another band go for the last optin to show your views. The purpose of this is really only to give me some more people to discuss music with.  |

Deep Purple 68-74, my favourite music of all time...
But I love Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden and Led Zeppelin to0, and I like The Who, Queens and Pink Floyd... |

Hammerheim , i have never got into Def Leppard, what would u say is their best stuff so i can give it a listen and check it out?
Maiden and sabbath ledgends as well but they never really became part of rock royalty did they? maybe they did but what in your oppinion made them GREAT |

ts ts ts, you forgot JETHRO TULL - yeah for me it's the greatest Rock band for the last 38 years, but it's anyway just subjective, there can't be 'the best band' --- but I like Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple as well. Tull rocks  ! |

hm, let's define "Rock"...  Maiden and Sabbath are probably more Metal than Rock - fine as well , but not considering the greatest rock band... |

Well...Maiden is prolly metal, to be more precise its New Wave of British Heavy Metal....
But Black Sabbath is rock.
And how could I forget about Tull... I even have 10+ cd's with them... |

Its interesting to see (not based on this poll) but the amount of folk who are into their heavy rock/metal on Fumbbl! Is that a common thing for boardgamegeeks?  I like the odd bit of rock, cant say Im a fan of Black Sabbath etc, Im more into stuff from Nick Drake, Elliot Smith and Jeff Buckley |

Early Def Leppard is best or the b-sides album to Hysteria, Tull do indeed rock as do Marrillion if you are looking at the softer stuff.
Sex Pistols are in no way shape or form rock, you could argue they where a bunch of untalented losers in the right place at the right time but not rock. The Clash and The Cure where far superior Punk bands. |
