I'll spill the beans for those few who care.
Valdrek may soon retire. A few months ago, I set the milestones of 500 SPP OR 70 TD, Completions and Casualties for him to try and achieve before retirement
He is at 492 spp, and 4 TD short of the tripple 70. I'll assess when he gets to 500 spp, and if he plays on, again at the tripple 70. Assuming he survives of course. |

well i have applied and the team will be ready to play by the time the tourney starts, im sure we will get to 32 teams so i hope that means that i will be in.. |

Not sure what you intend to do if you dont get full 32 but id suggest seeding the top TR teams through to round two and if say you had 24 applicants in total you could have 8 matches (16 teams ) and 8 teams with highest TR get byes . after that it would leave you with 16 teams  |

I think the format is pretty good at the moment. The short notice for teams to build up to tournament form especially.

The tournament format is working fine. If there are improvements, they should wait till all the races have had a go so that all the XFL tournaments are roughly the same. Unless there are 'show stopper' type problems, it is best not to tweak with the format in the middle of its first 'season'.
Personally, your suggestion is suckful for my team because although I play the same number of games (with a free pass into round 2), the tourney is potentially 1 week longer which then intrudes further into the GLT. I believe some of the other high TR DE coaches might feel the same way.
Yes the current format means applicants 17-31 miss out, but that happened for the other races too. |
