My opponent and I were arguing about a foul. He agreed to my idea of running a poll. I know this is trite, and well discussed, but humor me.
I hope I get all these details correct. It is turn 5 in the second half. The game is tied 1 to 1. My Khemri Throwa had the ball and is poised to score in two turns. The only player who has a chance to disrupt the play is a prone beast man. He can stand up, take two steps and blitz me. I have block, he does not. At this time in the game, I have caused 6 CAS and have crowded one player. My opp has 4 players left on the field, I have 9, includeing a ST 6 mummy who will be able to blitz for three dice against his beast should he sucessfully get the ball from me. He has a measly 6 percent chance of knocking me down (2 hard dodges and then his horns blitz). I have a very high probability of regaining control of the ball should his blitz work, and I have three full turns to try and pick it up with sure hands and AG 2.
Whats this? You have a normal skeleton standing ther who can make a foul. Its been a clean game, the ref will not expect it (no eye on me). If the foul works so well as to even stun the beast, you have a 100% chance of scoring. If you don't stun, the events written above are your fate. If you get caught and escorted from the field, the chance of him disrupting your play increase to 11.11%
Do you do it? |

I would say yes. There is nada wrong with fouling in situations that actually affect the game. Just make sure to do it as the absolute last thing you do on your turn. Chances are though, I would not unless the coach was acting like a jerk. One of the reasons I win so few games. I went with the 3rd option.
It is your choice and a viable one. It is every bit your right to do so. If he does not like it, he can just not play you again although that single foul wouldnt deter me from playing you again because I would understand that it actually had something to do with the game and you were not trying to act like a jerk. |

No, no kicking on the prone and helpless. Not if it had been a foul-free game so far. |

If a foul can win you the game, you foul. That simple. It's the safest move, so you take it. Fouling's in the rulebook. It's a valid tactic to win you a game. I understand some people's problem with fouling to destroy, but there's nothing whatsoever wrong with fouling to win. |

I'm as Anti fouling as can be but i'll be honest, thats a tactical foul and should be taken as such.
tactical fouls = no probs mate just roll under armour please, and get yourself kicked so i have 1 less person to dodge. k tnx |

I am shocked beyond belief that there are 8 people right now who don't see the light on this one. I wish games workshop would have called it blocking a prone player instead of calling it a foul. Then maybe more people wouldn't be so against it. They act like its cheating or something. |

I say.... FOUL AWAY!
Well, tactically.... not senslessly.
And in this case... definately a good tactical call!

This is the gospel right here if it was cheating it wouldn't be in the book. The very essence of the game is carnage if you go into a game not expecting players to die maybe you should play in a league that cares. Death is a natural occurence, the time taken is just speeded up a little when a skelton puts the boot into you thats all. |

the foul makes sense, but I understand that the opponent isn't happy with it. |

As a Khemri, you were obligated to foul and not doing so before is against usual procedure. |
