Hi guys,
I'm going to start a new [R] team and I have decided that the theme will be Marvel Superheroes.
I like to try different races and the races that I have not tried or am not currently developing are Khemri, Ogres, Orcs or Wood Elves. (Please don't look at my teams and say I am wrong as you can't see my retired teams.)
I would like your votes to consider along with any theme based reasons!

Ogres - Id love to get a set pro sculpted and moulded to look like ogres squeezing into lycra superhero oufits. It could be very amusing. |

Woodies of course... they can pull off last second victories and some incredible plays... like superheroes...

Superheroes arent supposed to break like glass, you'd be lucky if the wind didn't blow away a bunch of nancy pants WEs, stick to orcs, they are hard, the way a superhero should be! |

I'd say WoodElves.
Your Wardancers can Jump over tall Ogres and Treemen in single bounces - heck, they can basically Fly.
Your Catchers just cant be caught.
Your Throwers can deliver anything, anywhere.
And Your Linemen are all either 1 step faster, or 1 notch more agile than every other lineperson on the pitch.
(Oh yeah, and the - "Last minute victory from the jaws of defeat thing" isnt going to happen with Orcs, Ogres or Khemri)
(Throwers --> Gambit and Mr Fantastic (Long Arms))
(Catchers --> Flash Gordon, Superman etc...)
(WDancers --> Wolverine and Beast would be my two pics (The whole Jump, get AGile and Get damaging all in one package)
Then fill out your LineElves with any of the lesser superheroes. |

i'd suggest highelves (spidey should be a blitzer).... woodies are too fragile for the marvelheroes, darkies are too evil... voted for ogres but think they are not that agile.. from of your poll orcs would be still a good choice... (strong, survivors, ballhanding is ok) |

Brad makes a strong case for Woodelves.
I might expand it from Marvel to just superheroes in general though, or even supervillains. Then you'd have a lot less trouble naming all the replacements once your first, second, third, and fourth generations of elves all die.
Hell, if you were gonna get adventurous with it you could even try to develop them like their actual counterparts. General and Agility skills give you a little flexibility. You'd have to hope your toughguys rolled doubles though... might be awkward if Colossus comes off with blodge/sidestep but your Prof. X or somebody has MB/Guard, eh?
NOTE: Orcs are for sissies! I have faith you will not select them, Petey.
NOTE ALSO: I could be of some assistance with regards to portraits in this matter. Let me know if you need some solid resources. |

Ogres is the only choice for Marvel Superheros as they are the only race that are MIGHTY enough. Only an Ogre could compare to "The Thing" or "The Hulk"! |
