I, Herr Loonus Von Pennypincha, do declare the second Hardupp Cupp UNDERWAY!

The first Cupp was a huge success and made a shed load of cash for me.. I mean us... through TV rights and merchandise sales. Unfortunaltely all the money was stolen from my extra-specially-safe hiding place under my bed while I was out buying a new castle. Have you seen my new castle by the way..?

It doesn't matter though because this Cupp is going to be even bigger and better and make me.. I mean us... even more! Lets have a look at the groups:

Chemical Waste (Skaven)
Gorgeous George And His Band (Ogre)
Old World Union (Old World)
Port-un-Dead Privateers (Undead)

This looks like it could be a tough group. Chemical Waste went out in the last Cupp to the eventual runners up in the quaterfinals, but have come back looking stronger than ever and will again be many people's favourites to do well. Gorgeous George put up a good show for themselves last Cupp too and must fancy themselves to progress past the group stage this time. Two teams new to the Cupp fill the group, Old World Union are un known force and on paper look to have a very mean lineup, while the effectiveness in the Cupp of undead teams has already been proven, so the Privateers will have to be treated with some serious respect too.

Zon Baron (Amazon)
Gaia Lemnos (Amazon)
Hounds (Human)
wir fressen euch auf (Halfling)

A very interesting one. The only proven force in this group is last Cupp's semi-finalists Zon Baron. They were unlucky to lose to the eventual champions in overtime back then, and their fans will be expecting at least as much again this time around. Hoping to establish themselves alongside them will be fellow amazonians Gaia Lemnos who look to have a very strong team. With no real bashy teams in this group the zon teams will both be confident - although Hounds are currently plauged by injuries, they have the roster to do some serious damage to some AV7. even the halflings wir fressen euch auf might cause some scares with their two treemen...

Paupers Of Death (Undead)
Rangateer Puffins (Chaos)
Faule Feiglinge (Nurgle's Rotters)
Fragile Alliance (Necromantic)

game 3 of this group sees a rerun of last Cupp's quaterfinal match between the Paupers and the Puffins which should draw in enough of a crowd for me to but a new fur coat.. Of course, the Paupers went on to become the first ever Hardupp Cupp Champions so naturally big things are expected of them this time around. The Puffins will look at the low TR of the other two teams and fancy their chances of an easy qualification, but both are capableof upsets. Fragile Alliance will know that 2 werewolves could turn any game thier way, while Faule Feiglinge have a big smelly beast. Nuff said.

Big Bad Beerdrinkers (Norse)
Psychedelic Blue Skins (Lizardmen)
Jimi Stinka (Necromantic)
Mounties (Human)

Another strong group. The Beerdrinkers made it all the way to the final of the last Cupp. However the 9 casualties they took in that game has left them with a bit of an injury crisis (three of their starting lineup have niggles), and they also have the retirement of last Cupp's player of the tournament Beer Runner to adapt to. A rematch with the Paupers could well await them in knockout stages too! Hoping to take advantage of BBBs injury worries will be the Blue Skins who have been training very hard since last Cupp and now have the roster they lacked before to really achieve in this competion, and although Mounties are a team new to the Cupp, coach Blockbuster took the unfancied skavens Ben to the semifinals last Cupp so big things are expected this time around. Jimi Stinka have a strong squad but have never yet won a game. Nothing more dangerous than a hungry team..

Lets be hearing your views on the draw and the Cupp ahead of us!

Zon Baron are not at all happy with poor Martha being killed and raised as a zombie. They have vowed vengeance upon the evil Paupers Of Death. The gals are currently reading up on special mummy-killing techniques at the library.

The Privateers are unbeaten so far (yes, 2 whole games without a loss!) and really want to keep it that way. As for the winner? Well I hope that the Blueskins win coz they were my favorite team last season... So I only have this to say to BlackNWhiteDog... see you in the final dude! Twisted Evil

Wow! The Waste got a vote! Very Happy

Tough group Begga there, Ogres, Old World and FUndead.... I expect to hear the crunch of Skaven often!

Hopefully the Waste will prevail though - I'd like a return against those Beerdrinkers, or the Blueskins!

Good luck everybody.

Champions Paupers Of Death have unvieled their new kit for the season!

In front of a gala reception containing literally tens of people and featuring such A-list celebrities as Noel Deadmunds and David HasGoneOff, Paupers favourites Coal Scuttle Cris and Mighty Slimm modeled the new strip.

Grimes refuted claimes that the new uniforms had simply been stripped off the corpses at the Peterloo Massacre (1819), and insisted they repesented a massive step forward in Blood Bowl kit design.

"We have gone up in the world since becoming champions. Gone are the rags and flat caps of last Cupp, we felt we needed a treat. Of course if we don't win the Cupp again they'll have to go back...", he added.

The Blueskins will be signing autographs after their games (for a small price - this is the Hardupp Cupp after all).

In the first game of HCII, Paupers Of Death Wight Strika cheated death by regenerating after a Faule Feiglinge beastman Malaria Mike knocked off his head! The Paupers won 2-1, but Strika now has a new purpose - he will not rest until he has killed the cheeky hoved git in battle! Revenge!

****** TEAM CHANGE ***********

In breaking news, Ogres Gorgeous George And His Band have been forced to pull out of the Group Begga. In fact, the last that was seen of George, he was was being forced to pawn his entire band to afford gin. Knowing that one Ogre and a trumpet does not a Hardupp Cupp winning team make, he has decided to dedicate himself to busking outside Picadilly tube station for the forseeable...

It has long been the opininion of many that there just aren't enough Necromantic teams in this league, so it is with great pleasure that we unleash... wait for it... Necrons. They are mean and they are (like most Hardupp teams) hungry. Watch out.
