I put the whole award into question if people vote teams because they liked to play them in stand alone or enjoyed games in the past against it or simply like the coach because he is such a nice guy.
The award was, i think so, intended to honour the whatever team OF FUMBBL Cup V and not of FUMBBL overall or FUMBBL Year 2006.
If Malthor and most other coaches don't agree with this point, I accept it of course and will not ask or bring any more arguments or questions concerning this award. |

Ergo: Democracy is flawed and we should vote Communists, right?
Anyway, I appreciate people voted for me at all - though it seems Naama is going to grab this title. I might still vote for him later. |

So if one coach votes for reasons that apply to activities outside of this tournament,
then you question the validity of the award as a whole?
Reading the thread so far, it looks like that's what you are saying.
edit: I'd like to add that even though I have a soft spot for Khemri,
if a team plays all of its turns consistently slowly, then by definition
that team is "not entertaining or thrilling to watch". |

You don't like me and I don't like you.
No need to repeat your antipathy again and again. |

LOL!
If you simply played fast enough for spectators to enjoy the game,
then there wouldn't be any antipathy here, and probably much less from everyone else.
I don't like the way you've spent this thread attacking anyone who votes for a team other than yours.
No need to repeat your behavior again and again and again and again (and again!). |

Uh, I missed the part in the rules of FUMBBL that it is my obligation to give every spectator in every important game a good time and much amusement. Sorry for that!

Now you get childish. Your presumption is simply wrong.
You can vote whomever you want to, if you think "this team entertained me the most" then vote it.
If you like to honour Naama for its team and its history and the many good games he gave you BEFORE the tournament, then you shouldn't abuse this tournament award (Spectator's Team Of The Tournament Award).
Before you reply, please read it again:
Team Of The Tournament Award
Note: If the officials don't care (which means that the award isn't designed for what I thought it was designed for), that the period is expaned to all games, which a team played in its past, I'll repeat my promise: Discussion closed and I'm fine |

Now you are funny.

Spectator's Team of the Tournament Award
Given that this is the Spectator's Team of the Tournament Award,
perhaps you should reconsider this statement and how it applies to this thread:
Dominik wrote: | Uh, I missed the part in the rules of FUMBBL that it is my obligation to give every spectator
in every important game a good time and much amusement. |
Also consider how that statement directly contradicts your other statement:
Dominik wrote: | But you should vote "Who thrilled you, brought you the most laughs, entertained you the most, was the bravest or deadliest?" the team of this tournament. |
So you say that it is not your obligation to entertain the spectators,
but you say that we should vote for the team that entertained the spectators....
Oooookay.... Done! |

Ok, enough guys. Get a room already!
The criteria/explanation I provided in the intro is sufficient.
It is a Spectator's Team of the Tournament Award. IDEALLY it is about which team entertained you the most etc during the Cup. As others have said, it is about democracy and that includes people voting for the wrong reasons. This award cannot work if every voting coach has to be interrogated about why they chose a coach/team.
Some people may want to award a team who has done well in other tournaments. Each spectator brings in their own values from their personal experiences. One coach may like team killers, another may like skillful play. It is not for us to say that one coach's values are better or more correct than another's. Similarly, some coaches may think a team deserves the award because of past history, or because they are a young team, or because they are the first of their race to do well in a Major - all nothing to do with FUMBBL Cup V itself, but seemingly valid reasoning.
In short, we cannot legislate about what people think or how they wish to exercise their free vote - basic prinicples behind a democratic process.
Now it seems that most people who have watched a lot of FUMBBL Cup games are happy about the award and happy to vote without this long debate. If there is someone else who has a strong view about how the voting process is flawed or needs clarification, then let them have their say. |
