SWL Turns 50

This season marks a special occasion for the Southern Wastes League. 9 years ago, Twahn tested the waters and began an all-Australian league. Now, in 2013, SWL celebrates it's 50th season!

Since its inception, the SWL has expanded to include coaches from the entire Asia Pacific region, providing the premier league experience on FUMBBL. The SWL has inspired the creation of other leagues in Europe and North America, trying to emulate the success that the SWL has experienced.

However, what makes the SWL so special is the fact that for the majority of the Australian/New Zealand/Asian community, the league is THE most important experience on FUMBBL. This is due to the awesome, tight-nit community within the SWL which welcomes players and provides a positive experience all of the time. Additionally, the time zone difficulties make it hard to participate in majors, making SWL the most competitive blood bowl experience that we have easy access to. This awesome and unique prevalence of a competitive but friendly community has been the key to reaching 50 seasons.

I'd like to thank all of the SWL staff who have helped maintain the league over 50 seasons. I'd like to thank all of the past and present SWL coaches who have helped form this awesome community's culture. Finally, I'd like to thank FUMBBL and Christer for providing such an awesome framework to host this awesome league.

Here's to another 50!

Great Halfling Battle III raised $41 to FUMBBL. 12 Brave Halfling teams battled in BlackBox to help the community, and Coach Kyyberi promised to donate money for their perfomances.

Shindahl becomes first throwing lizardman legend!

The throwing skink Shindahl of Shrieking Bloodstorm, with 68 completions for 99 passing yards making him the top passer and highest passing lizardman of all time in all current divisions.

He gained 13 SPP against Show the Ropes putting him at 180. He is still the #7 all time most blocking skink, and the only top 10 most blocking skink that does not have block, due to his suicidal tendency to attack ball carriers everywhere if none of the bigger lizards can reach them.

Hopefully Shindahl will continue to throw crazy passes, and make stupid crazy plays for many more games, until he dies a hero's death on the pitch, with crowds cheering, booing and screaming for passes and blood.
