Has this ever happened to you?
I had a game last night against Tricktickler's Skaven. Toward the end of the 1st half I had the ball safely on the goal line, but decided to take a block with my pomber on one of his gutter runners. My reasoning was, hey I have block, and a re-roll available. It will give me a decent chance of getting one of these super annoying runners out of the game. I'm going for it.
I set up a 3 die block and proceeded to roll triple skulls, and re-rolled into triple skulls.
We both had a good laugh, and Tricktickler said he's never seen it in over a thousand games.
Now the odds are something crazy like 46,656 to 1.

I've played over 6000 games here, and yes it has happened to me more than a dozen times.

twice...
once with headsplitter in a crucial moment (all i needed was a both down or a push to stop the score)
and once vs poor lizzies that were diced so badly that the hydra (or avalanche) did not matter...
by the way pombers deserve the pain!

Had it once and it cost me a win and potentially the OBBA premiership title that season.
In crucial games, where I am in a good winning position, I never risk blocks before scoring any more... period.

Are you talking about double skulls rerolled into double skulls or 3d without block rerolled into triple skulls or specifically what Jas described?
I would agree to seeing that a FEW times, but a lot would be stretching it.

Statistically you shouldn't have. How many 3d blocks get set up? Not very many. And the odds of one of those turning into triple skulls then RRed to the same is 1/46656. I have to question anyone who says they've seen it multiple times.

I try not to block at all with big guys unless it's 3d.
And 1/46656 sounds impressive, but think how many dice get rolled every match. It does happen.

Although big guys do not usually have block and that is why you are setting up 3dbs with them. I think people are for sure exaggerating their experiences.

Bill if you're positive I'm wrong, please provide the matches where this happened, as I'm sure it's noteworthy.

Happenned to me once on fumbbl. Never on table top. So that would make once every 700 games, much more than the theorical probability indeed :)
