I couldnt agree more.
Its funny that you note Pythrr's valid response as I was thinkg the same. I saw his response to that post just after I saw his forum response here (http://fumbbl.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=14539) telling Vol that he doesnt care to know about others ideas.
Summary: I dont care about your opinion - but ill paste mine everywhere anyway......

And yr point is?
Posted by OneEye on 2008-09-30 05:41:59
Yeah i saw his response in that forum thread as well. I felt disappointed that his obvious sadness wasn't just directed at me... i felt special for a time :( But on a good note it seems SmilingMatt is keeping the lameness going! Good for you you will fit in perfectly on here!

You guys are aware that your comments about lameness of commenting is actually creating more forum-like comments? :D
I believe comments are there for stuff like grats mate, good job, cute child you have etc. etc.

Now the people can tell you why your rating is low.

Like almost everyone else i agree with OneEye... considering his rating is currently at 4.9 i would say the rating is nothing like your popularity Dominik.... high!

Comments are a welcome thing. (I might even make a blog post now ... or not.)
Note that the format is still significantly different from forums. Each poster effectively gets 'equal billing' in the forums, while blog comments are clearly subordinated to the original blog by being in smaller text and not even visible by default. Not to mention that, as you discovered, you can effectively delete them at will.
Comments may also help to reduce the 'blog wars' where someone feels they have to respond to a blog by writing their own blog (through several iterations) or starting a thread.

The main difference between blogs and forums are that the blogs are a way for someone to state an opinion, whereas the forums is where you post questions or open up discussions.

Damnit! Come back from sick days to find 19 comments and now my ego won't allow me to delete them coz i have people agreeing with me and a score of 4.4! Mind you i love when coaches prove the point by adding useless comments! Its quite sad really but then look at who were the coaches... speaks for itself really!
