Whats the point of comments in blogs?
So now we have the ability to comment on peoples blogs which to me basically means that they are exactly the same as forums... so why bother keeping one or the other?
All this is going to do is prompt even more needless comments and niggles exactly like the very first blog and comment i read!
Lloydzz22 wrote a blog called Turn 16 Fouler and the comment attached by Pythrr was "And yr point is?"... why even bother writing that Pythrr? What point does that make? Does it help anyone? No all this comments section does is provide another way for those on FUMBBL who love telling everyone what they can and cant do.
If you have a question then put it in the Forums but blogs are meant to be somewhere you can put your own thoughts or even useless information to remind yourself but now it will just degenerate into endless comments and will (if not already) become another forum!
A suggestion to Christer. Allow either the blog owner to set their blogs as 'No comments allowed' or give them control to delete any comments they dislike. Its not a forum where you want everyones advice and input so allow the owner some control.
Also a suggestion to all who find themselves with moron coaches writing idiotic comments, simply copy your blog, delete the original blog along with all the comments and then repost it... presto!
EDIT: I've already deleted 2 moronic comments already! Fantastic! Actually forget my complaints this is kinda fun deleting stuff!

Yeah i saw his response in that forum thread as well. I felt disappointed that his obvious sadness wasn't just directed at me... i felt special for a time :( But on a good note it seems SmilingMatt is keeping the lameness going! Good for you you will fit in perfectly on here!

Comments are a welcome thing. (I might even make a blog post now ... or not.)
Note that the format is still significantly different from forums. Each poster effectively gets 'equal billing' in the forums, while blog comments are clearly subordinated to the original blog by being in smaller text and not even visible by default. Not to mention that, as you discovered, you can effectively delete them at will.
Comments may also help to reduce the 'blog wars' where someone feels they have to respond to a blog by writing their own blog (through several iterations) or starting a thread.

The main difference between blogs and forums are that the blogs are a way for someone to state an opinion, whereas the forums is where you post questions or open up discussions.

Damnit! Come back from sick days to find 19 comments and now my ego won't allow me to delete them coz i have people agreeing with me and a score of 4.4! Mind you i love when coaches prove the point by adding useless comments! Its quite sad really but then look at who were the coaches... speaks for itself really!
